Do you think there is any human on planet Earth who knows what happened to this plane?

It's very possible

No doubt.

It doesn't just vanish and you never hear from it again. Someone knows something and I'm not one of these conspiracy theorists.

It's just logical. All these satellites looking down, ships, oil workers, heck even your own cell phone knows where you are.

This plane has redundancies on top of redundancies so it won't just vanish. I read that it has 10 generators. All 10 would have to fail for there to be an electrical malfunction to cause the transponder to not operate.

That's just what I read. I'm not a pilot so I have no first hand knowledge of that but it seems pretty plausible.

Surreal and mind boggling.

It really is. It's been 5+ days and I still can't completely get my head around the fact that we "lost" a Boeing 777.

I imagine the plane would be equipped with a ram air turbine as well. Those are designed to power all vital systems of the aircraft, as far as I know.

Wow...look at this from the WSJ article

quote:

Aviation investigators and national security officials believe the plane flew for a total of five hours based on data automatically downloaded and sent to the ground from the Boeing Co. BA -0.99% 777's engines as part of a routine maintenance and monitoring program.

quote:

U.S. counterterrorism officials are pursuing the possibility that a pilot or someone else on board the plane may have diverted it toward an undisclosed location after intentionally turning off the jetliner's transponders to avoid radar detection, according to one person tracking the probe.

quote:

At one briefing, according to this person, officials were told investigators are actively pursuing the notion that the plane was diverted "with the intention of using it later for another purpose."

Like I said previously it's going to turn in to a political government he said he said IMO. Smaller ones spoke first with turn and throwing diversion.

China now says they have images which look to be no evidence..

I'll buy it. Either the plane had to explode where it "disappeared" or the transponder was intentionally shut off.

It does. I just saw that tonight. In the very unlikely event that all 10 generators fail, there's a device called a "rat" that drops out of the fuselage.

From my understanding, it has a small prop on it so it generates enough power to at least power the radio or transponder.

Those families need closure.

ok, so lets throw a 5 hour radius around the last known location, that puts at at... let me check my calculations...anywhere.

I think this has to be some sort of hijacking. It's not like the are searching the Indian or Pacific oceans. Unless it flew into either.

These were two very experienced pilots. Particularly the Captain. Not likely people that would be involved in anything related to terrorism.

Isn't the 777 equipped with a very secure cockpit? It's one of the most advanced airliners on the market.

Not saying this is the case but if this happened, someone on the ground obviously has seen it and isn't talking.

It gets weirder by the day.

It did say 5 hours total, I would think that includes the time it was still being tracked after liftoff. Still doesn't change the range that much if so
