Not a terrible idea.

Assuming you could get 3% on 30-yr treasuries you're missing out on $1,800/hr in interest payments on the after tax amount in LA, ~$530M.

Waiting until the office in Baton Rouge opens at 8:00am would theoretically cost you over $16,000 in interest.

First thing anyone should do is take up a residency in a state without an income tax, like Florida or Tennessee.

I'm not exactly sure what your options are here but that is certainly something to consider.
