Ehh I'm back the blue all the way, but you can't validate this story. They went to the wrong house. The homeowner doesn't know what's going on.

Btw: this cops screwed up, doesn't mean you can't back the blue and admit a mistake was made that needs punishment. It's not one or the other. You don't have to validate every decision a cop makes just because you support police overall. Also, just because you are blm doesn't mean that the police always are improperly using deadly force. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

Sadly, the family will not win a wrongful death suit and nothing willl happen to the officers based on the outcomes of the last 2-3 times this has happened in other cities. It's fricking ridiculous

Wrong house, wrong guy, no evidence of him having a firearm. That is a pretty strong start to a wrongful death lawsuit

Would you like me to introduce you to the Mississippi Tort Claims Act?

Could you explain why that is not a winnable wrongful death suit? I'm not a lawyer but would be curious as to why not.

Hmmm... so does this.

quote:

But, neighbors said they didn't hear anything like that.

"I didn't hear yelling," neighbor Nicholas Tramel said.

Hmmmm. This also.

quote:

officers had reasons not to tell the truth in their account of what happened. Namely, because they could face consequences for shooting Lopez.

Hmmm. Oh yeah, this too.

quote:

"There was a gun on the premises, but the man did not have the gun with him when police shot him," he said.

This isn't adding up for me. If they shot through the door, how do they know he had a gun? If he opened the door with a gun on them, which seems to be the only way the officers would know, why would he close the door and then them shoot him through the door?

Witness statements are also always 100% factual.

Well I am sure the cops have body cameras to back their side up so we shouldn't have to worry about it.

Doors can have windows on them you know. Sidelites are another possibility.

Don't expect many people to read that.

So if true they shot him through a door when did they see the gun? Insulport cops and have family that are cops; however, body cameras work then there should be no problem clearing themselves with their story.

First you have to give the entity, agency, whatever like 90 days notice. You send them a letter telling them of your intent to sue and you give them the facts. Then you can't do shite for 90 days. They will write you back and say it was either a criminal act or negligence which means they are off the hook. You have to make reckless fit, which gets tougher each time I think.

There was a case in Jackson. Girl kept running away from home. One day she ran away again and the parents called the cops. Two cops picked her up and had sex with her (she was underage). They then dropped her off in some shite neighborhood where she was murdered.

Family got a big judgment but it got reversed at the MS Supreme Court. They said that because the officers committed a crime, the city couldn't be held liable.

Well let's put the police account of the incident aside. They shot and killed the wrong guy at the wrong address. No matter what their account is that's not good for them because this guy should've never been involved.
