On another note, funeral processions with bike officers really need to stop. They are always flying and I'm shocked it doesn't happen more often.

The policeman was working a funeral and there is a chance he was going at high speed to the next light. Truck pulled out but if you are expecting vehicles at 45mph and he was at high speed it’s tough to judge.

It is tough and when you are pulling out you are expecting something at 45 mph.
And I’m just speculating that he might have been going at a rate of speed. I don’t know but I’m sure the driver is traumatized. No one wants that.

There was a Slidell officer who died a couple of months ago from injuries he sustained during a funeral escort.

Well that’s true but it happens. When I was in college a guy came down my street on a bike doing 110 and truck turned left in front of him and he died in my front yard. The guy saw the motorcycle but on a 30 mph residential street just couldn’t judge it.
