The officer accused the man of stealing $1.99 Mentos candy ,but he had obviously just purchased it . The video shows the officer cock the gun and tell the man to " empty his pockets"......... until the clerk finally confirms the man paid for it.

Fortunately he didn't accuse the "shoplifter" of reaching for a weapon and that he feared for his life.

If you have to call 911, they usually aren’t.

He shouldn’t be using a gun at all for something like this. I’m sure he broke protocal here

I’ve seen loaded guns pointed at people in the quad for less.

Typical second amendment clutching Trump supporter. And you wonder why we need gun control in this country

The video of the incident clearly shows our officer drawing his gun, but not pointing it

I'm guessing that if the roles had been reversed (i.e. the customer pull a gun but didn't point directly) the cop could have shot and killed him on the basis that he feared for his life.

Jesus. He ratcheted a round into it too, there is no way that is the department policy way of handling the situation.

Did he have a coke too? If so that could be counted as weapon
