If you’re that fricking scared you have no business being a cop.

Not committing crimes within a certain community is the real issue that needs to be addressed. Crime in that community and single mom households are the real issues.

No shite. And the "majority" of the population in this country wanted to "defund" them just one year ago. And I only put the words "defund" and "majority" in parentheses because the average idiot who wanted this didn't realize cops don't really train a whole lot.

Hence you get scared women grabbing their Glock instead of their Tasers.

The VA pepper spray incident was much more egregious than this shite.

I can't got do bat for this incident. She fricked up. There is no maybe. Tasing him would have been the right move OR I know it is ridiculous but let him go. You knew who he was...It isn't ideal but better than this mess or them risking their lives.

She definitely fricked up.

But can you at least acknowledge that there are going to be frick ups when humans are trying to detain other dangerous humans with weapons involved?

Everytime an officer gets in a fight, it’s a fight with a gun involved. Every now and then shite goes wrong.

We can talk about training police more and paying them more to get better candidates but where I push back is when people start talking about systemic racism and police are “killing us out here mane” like it’s intentional because they are black.

You realize the slippery slope this creates? He ran from the law twice already. Once when he was initially charged, then again on his court date. What do you think will happen if these people realize that cops "have to let them go" if they resist arrest? No. The opposite needs to happen. Every American citizen should fear what happens if they resist arrest, maybe then people will stop resisting and this stuff won't happen.

Yeah the kid should just be able to force himself out of an officer’s grasp while being handcuffed, get in a vehicle which could be used as a weapon (by a kid who’s known to have a gun) and just drive off. That should be our policy during stops

A taser would have been appropriate...

Unfortunately she didn't grab her taser.

It’s all about exposure to risk.

Every time you interact with a cop, you’re at risk for them to frick up and kill you.

Every time you escalate, you increase your exposure to risk.

Every time you physically resist, you increase your exposure to risk.

What demographic has the highest risk exposure?

Which demographic do you expect to experience a disproportionate number of officer frick ups?

There are two ways to remedy this and only two: pay cops more so smarter people become cops and are less likely to frick up and decrease risk exposure.

No shite??
But I’m also of the belief that shooting him wasn’t entirely out of line. When you dive back into a car there is a good probability that you’re going for a gun, fleeing (and possibly running over 3 officers like those two kids who carjacked the Uber Eats driver). So, you’ve chosen your fate at that point

Why not let the black officer who was on the scene handle this situation

When you consider the violence in some of these inner cities... yes.

Now if the violent crime rate is low that’s a different story

Exactly. We think alike. It’s thinking of this problem in a scientific, analytical way instead of an emotional, knee jerk way.

There is a reason that this demographic has a higher risk... It's not because of black skin, it's because the stats prove that this minority in the nation is causing the majority of the gun violence and crime.

When that inner culture problem is solved there will be significant change.

As to paying cops more to get better cops. Until the National Media stops with "Cop are racist killers" narratives you'll never get better and smarter cops. Th3 goods are leaving in droves because of this crap.
