Now that I'm "retired" I absolutely hate when I am around people and they want to talk shop.

My whole QA group I deal with. They are more useless than HR.

I have pretty strong opinions about that shite. In short, QA testers should be like security guards, not cops. The behavior I need is for them to go where I say and then "observe and report." They are neither smart nor knowledgeable enough to exercise authority or make decisions, and if they're encouraged to, I will do what I do to stupid people: trick them into getting out of the way. That's easy enough, but it robs us of what we really need: someone to observe and report.

People that do not communicate to get things done.

They email you needing something. You reply that you’re working on it. They follow up. You finally get what you need done and respond back to them then they don’t acknowledge that they got it and that it’s done.

Reply a simple “got it” or a “done”

-People that want to start a conversation at 4:55 pm. Sorry dude I'm getting out of here.

- Boss that wants to start reminiscing, telling stories, talking sports on Friday's after the last meeting. Sorry dude gotta run.

- Manufacturing manager that won't respond with lead times on our products in a timely manner and sometimes not at all so I can get quotations out. Usually, I have to make up my own lead times.
