I have started in Janurary working in a new place. So about 3 weeks ago i was approached about a coworkers birthday. Everyone was going to buy a few finger foods for the get togther about 15 people. So one of the lady's I work with approach me an started hinting for me to cook a main course of some sort so i did a jambalaya.(everyone eles went buy cheap finger food well,4 people did no one elese pitches in) I made a massive pot the night before stayed up late and went in early to warm it up.Well that day came and went and I was praised for how good my cooking came out.
Well here is the kick, i put smoke sausage, pork, and deer sausage for my meat. About a week later another lady ask if i can cook somthing eles for lunch one day, and I said sure I have some deer I can cook. And she responded with a smile, "oh no i dont eat deer" and i told her that was the sausage in the jambalaya (if i new she was serious i would have kept my mouth shut). Well long story short a group of 4 of these women are given me a hard time about not telling them there was deer in my jambalaya. I did apologize because i felt bad and really had no idea they didnt eat wildgame are deer. Well there still given me a hard time over this, pretty much a cold shoulder, constantly giving me grief over this. I understand 100% why at first they were upset 2 weeks ago. What say the OT? Are they blowing this thing up more than it is 2 weeks later

Weird that they eat meat but not deer. Or care enough to be mad about it.

With a name like Welder69, I’ll admit I didn’t take you for an office kind of guy. Especially to work amongst those that don’t eat game. Silicon Valley welder
You're a good dude but your co-workers suck. Of course it’s the fat ones that ate seconds and thirds only to give you shite about it later. Those bitches along with the cheapskates, frick em all. (Not sex)

Some folks are hospitable and like to make a good impression.
Sometimes that is lost on ungrateful fricks like the women OP described.

You are fortunate. They will not ask you to make anything else and you can get away with bringing paper plates or napkins instead of taking the time to cook

People are weird.
Buddy made queso with deer sausage in it. A chick at the party was eating it and said it was good, when she found out it was deer she looked like she was going to throw up and said it’s disgusting.

Put nutria in the next one. This is Louisiana. You don't ask what's in it, you just eat it.

At least you won’t be asked to cook again for those ungrateful women.

Did not, and i repeat do not cave on this one.
They are going to be ok.
Yes, they will stay butt hurt for a while but in the end it still doesn’t change the fact that they enjoyed it.
Do not cave!!

First off, congratulations on your new job. Cooking for large groups of people is a treacherous affair. There's a thread about it in here every week.
As for the deer in the jambalaya; WTF? Who's got beef with venison? I know Jews and Muslims have a thing with pork and ham and bacon and Hindu's about moo-cow meat. But deer? Seriously?
I've had friends from religions that had rules against eating certain animals. Whenever I attempted to warn them of the haram/non-kosher parts, they cleverly figured out ways to get me the memo to NOT tell them exactly what forbidden food they'd enjoy while still following technically following their religions. That's only the really devout ones, most waste no time with such pretenses.
Deer is delicious, even vegans consider deer meat as plant-based. It's too damned good to resist. Those ladies weren't upset with you. They're using that as a conversion piece. They likely have plans from some of your other sausage. I hope for your sake they're attractive.

You should casually mention in conversation.
"Did y'all know Jeffery Dahmer was my cousin. He told me human flesh tastes just like deer meat."
Then walk off and never mention it again.

Deer are of cloven hoof. Same category as pigs in regard to Jews and Muslims not eating pork.
ETA- the old testament doesn't say "Don't eat Pork". It says "don't eat animals of cloven hoof". That would include deer. Thus, the people that follow the old testament of the bible (Jews, Muslims, fundie Christians) shouldn't eat deer.
