Well none of us know much about what actually happened.

But you sure seem to act like you do.

Also provide me with a link that a child was shook

Sounds like the cop was holding his one year old when they were both pushed to the ground...
quote:

A law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation told The Times that the officer was holding his 1-year-old while standing in line for a food sample at the store Friday night when he got into an argument with another man that quickly became physical. The source said the 32-year-old man, identified as Kenneth French, escalated the conflict to blows and knocked the officer to the ground. The officer did not know of the man’s disability at the time, according to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

Do you really think that pulling a gun much less using it lethally in this situation was in any conceivable way justified?

I don’t know if it was in this situation. My point was that if someone is attacking a child then I’m fine with lethal force.

So he was knocked to the ground with his baby in hand and felt he needed to pull a gun out

Being trained with his gun and situations like this, he then fired off multiple rounds in a fricking Costco.
Do you know understand how wild that sounds? Maybe he was right but that’s fricking absurd

He shot the entire family

It’s entirely possible that the incident was over once the cop hit the ground and then he overreacted. It’s also possible the victim was continuing to attack the cop and his child. None of us know at this point.

I agree with you but the tone of this thread is so stupid. Nothing against you

If the guy is nonverbal, I can see this being as simple as the nonverbal guy cutting in line, and it escalating from there.

How do you argue with someone who is nonverbal. Either the victim’s family is lying, or the cop is.

Common sense does dictate that if you are holding a one year old, you do not get into arguments. Did the fact that he had a gun give him some extra bravado during the argument? If I’m holding a one year old, I let everything slide and get out of harm’s way.

Or maybe the parents were just upset about seeing their son murdered in front of them and attempted to confront their son's murderer?

Unless a gun was pulled on cop, i highly doubt it.

What in the name of holy frick is wrong with you people. Do you really think that pulling a gun much less using it lethally in this situation was in any conceivable way justified? A cop should be trained to deal with this with his bare hands. Take the kid out of "harm's" way and be a fricking man instead of a coward with a gun. And if you aren't that skilled then use it non lethally.

It’s a shame some of you can actually vote.

Has anyone reported whether the cop was in uniform?

It's a shame you think a father needs a gun (and not just brandishing it but using it ineptly and lethally) to protect his family from an unarmed handicapped man in the middle of a Costco. Sad. Scary. You've been properly conditioned for the takeover.

Exactly. This man was by definition not qualified to carry a gun in public.

We don’t know all the facts, but considering the cop also shot the parents, it’s obvious he was a bit out of control. Necessary is quite a subjective term and impossible to answer without being there.

We don’t know what force or what position the child, the cop, or the son were using or in.

Let’s see some video or witness accounts before we yell for the cop’s head, shall we?

Supposedly all on video. Police department says the officer was attacked by the other guy, apparently causing the officer to fall with the one year old child in his arms. Ultimately he shoots the man, and the mom and dad were both struck too. Not sure how many shots were fired. Video will obviously tell the story.

The main problem i have is this cop was carrying a gun due to his position and his training for that position should have made using that weapon avoidable. Literally run the other way if you have to. Unless the nonverbal mentally handicapped boy was a ninja.

You realize he was treated at the hospital right? Given he had his kid in his hand and ended up at the hospital and not arrested on the spot with multiple witness accounts supporting him, the early assumption is he was in the clear here.

Take out the fact this guy had a mental disability, and your opinion would be drastically different. Take out this guy is a cop, and same thing.

I don’t disagree that shooting someone in a grocery store that’s not committing something like armed robbery is very very suspect. But people always forget we have 300 mil people in this country and most of them are freaking crazy.
