Not suggested. That's absolutely what he should have done.

I’m assuming you’re part of the investigative team. From your comments it seems like you’ve seen the video evidence.

You people are insane.

Can you fill us in on exactly what happened since you seem to know.

If I'm understanding correctly, a few people in the thread are saying that even if the nonverbal guy knocked the officer unconscious while he was holding his 1 year old child, the officer should only go hand to hand with this guy because he's technically "unarmed"?

So, do you think he should of shot the whole family? Dad and Mom are in critical condition.

A little old lady was shot for being a threat to an off duty police officer. She remains in critical condition.

Going for the emotional argument, nice.

Sad story. I grew up a few miles from this Costco. My parents still shop there all the time. I can tell you there's cameras everywhere, so they know who's telling the truth.

We don't know if she was shot directly, it could have been a pass through or something like that. That doesn't make it any better.

If you are going to shoot someone in a busy place, you have to be aware of what's behind your target.

If the cop would have shot the parents on purpose for no reason, I don't think he'd be out free. Bystanders would be furious.

Let's be honest here, a loud argument or fight somewhere like Costco and half the store would be trying to watch.

Already forgot about amber guyger? Not immediately arrested, for days... undercharged, and then given the gift of a bond for murder lower than what I've received for cultivation of marijuana

maybe, but it doesn't change the fact that a person that was not involved in the confrontation was shot... actually, 2 people...

emotions aside, you still have to address the facts...

It's a shame you think a father needs a gun (and not just brandishing it but using it ineptly and lethally) to protect his family from an unarmed handicapped man in the middle of a Costco.

It's a shame that you don't realize that law enforcement departments require their officers to carry off duty. But you wanted to sound edgy on the interwebs by trying to demean the cop. Too bad you continually show yourself to be a horse's arse.

Going to the hospital means little.

And if he was unconscious and was beating beaten YOU DONT HAVE MINOR INJURIES.

WHY ARE YOU SO STUPID.

You know this is a fact how exactly?

Let's start with your definition of the word "fact."

The fact that the media is barely covering this story leads me to make two assumptions:

1. Cop was black
2. Shooting was justified based on video
