after they get their big "retirement" record, typically when they lose their hunger their creative juices begin to dry up, I'm sure there's also pressure from the record company to "write hits"

He was so far ahead of his time and influenced the giants of the music world. There's no telling where his career would've gone, especially if he'd followed a similar arc to a band like The Beatles who made such a hard shift to experimentation in the psychedelic era the mid to late 60's.

I saw a lot of people saying 'more music' and while I don't think Freddie Mercury needed more music, seeing him command a stage and perform is something I wish I could have seen in person. Same with Michael Jackson. Wish I could have seen 80s MJ perform.
