Of all the gun law requests is wanting people trained and to get a license the dumbest?

Yes... let's make them better at killing people before we let them have a gun.

fricking morons.

ETA: I'm not talking about safety training.

I'm talking about people claiming gun training and a license will somehow stop school shootings. People that say things like only highly trained and licensed people should be able to own a AR-15.

It's probably a good idea for people to be trained in gun safety to eliminate accidents.

Yeah, but these debates aren't over accidental shootings.

A drivers license means that I've proved I'm sufficient at driving a car.

What do you the majority of gun training is?

Last I checked, trained and licensed gun owners are not the ones committing 90% of the gun crimes. Don't really think criminals give two shits about gun regulations.

have zero problem with eveyone being required to go thru firearms safey course before ownership

have many problems with existing laws for gun crimes seeming to be "optional"

enforce the laws already on the books....consistently

I'm not talking about safety training.

These people are saying that training and licenses will help stop school shootings and criminal violence.

You are trained to safely operate a vehicle.

Majority of gun training is to safely handle a firearm. As well as laws related to utilizing a firearm, justifiable force, etc.

yea, I don't recall any training in this during hunter's safety. Maybe the military would be a better source of that knowledge.

I'm not a hardliner either way on abortion but it's a little fricked up that so many people want to place more restrictions on an implicit constitutional right than they want to place on getting an abortion.

*that's my poli post of the day. I'll see myself out now.

We make people take a test before they can drive. I don’t have a problem with training for purchasing a gun.

I'm all for gun safety training.

However I am 100% against government mandated safety training as a requisite for owning a firearm. Because that is straight up infringement.
