Odd MLK Day Story

So my brother lives in NOLA and he has a son who is in second grade. Anyway, my nephew came home from school on Friday and told him about how one of his classmates’ family doesn’t celebrate Christmas and celebrates Martin Luther King Day instead. Rather than having Santa Claus come, the ghost of Martin Luther King brings presents to the kids and fills their stockings. They also apparently have an MLK themed Christmas tree and eat king cake because to them it is the “true kings day”. This just got me wondering, who the hell are these weirdo parents and why would they do something like this to their kid? You just can’t even make this stuff up anymore!

I’m going off his word, but I agree it’s insanely unbelievable though

Alright I believe you... But my tommy gun don't

KB probably does that. Then again, anyone notice the black man, Derrick or somebody, always trying to holler at her on her posts and she won't give him the time of day. I bet KB isn't color blind after all. She don't want the BBC.

We used to go to popeyes and order like 30 bucks worth and not be able to eat most of it so we'd go around passing it out to the bums
bums will eat hella popeyes

just some run-of-the-mill racists trying to pass on that legacy to their boy. doesn't really bother me much at all, as I think people ought to be allowed to believe anything that they want to believe.

1. I don’t believe you.
2. I don’t care if they do actually do that.
3. MLK is a fictional character just like Jesus.
4. This is why we now say “Happy Holidays”

How many people do you think have told their family and friends that their nephew has this same friend?

Sure I agree with this, but I just think it’s comical that they feel the need to do this. Why not just celebrate both?

Better to be Jewish so you get presents for eight days.

And celebrating Santa Clause isn’t weird?

Two bans, much triggering.
It’s fricking stupid that this day is a holiday.

The boy has a mother?
Post some candid holiday snaps of her please for context.
We’re all having a difficult time with the mental picture of the involved parties.
TIA.
