When I lived in New Orleans I went on an interview where the CEO was about 5 years older than me. Turns out he grew up in the same neighborhood I did in Huntsville, AL. I called my mom and asked her if she knew him and she said "I babysat him when he was little". I didn't get the job, but it would have been hard to work for a CEO when you know your mom changed his diaper when he was little.

Seems like this would be a positive thing as long as you aren't shitty employee.

I went on an interview one time and had forgotten to put down a summer job I had when I was in high school on the application. It was a totally honest mistake as it had been over a decade since I had that job. I was 28 at the time and it was listed on my resume. The HR lady spent 20 minutes trying to get to the bottom of why I left that off of the application and even called the parks and rec department of my hometown trying to catch me lying about the reason I left the job. I guess she really had some trust issues.

Not being able to work for someone whom your mother has seen naked must serious limit your employment possibilities.

Had the HR lady conducting the interview walk in with a bright yellow sweatshirt on with a giant picture of a cat on it while I was wearing a suit.

How does $5k per day sound? Is that more than you're making now? There is no money today, but I'll send your video to others and if they like you, you might get a call back.

Friend interviewed with an engineering firm just before graduation. His interviewer has him solve a challenging problem as a test of his knowledge. Took my friend a few minutes, but he was able to give the correct answer. Friend tells me all about it, because who expects there to be a quiz?

Two days later, I interviewed with the same firm and that interviewer asked me the same dang question.

My response was lightning fast and I got the offer. Didn't take it, so my friend got the job. Doh!

Odd interviews

Funny one for me. I interviewed right out of college for a starter level type position with an investment firm that focused a lot on foreign investments.

It was a small company in terms of # of employees, and one of those were the CEO didn't have an office, he just had a desk right in the middle of their workspace type places.

While I'm sitting in the lobby waiting, the CEO, who was the person I was interviewing, comes out into the hallway with this girl who was about the hottest chick I'd ever seen in my life, rocking a shite ton of cleavage for an interview. It was clear she was interviewing for the same position I was. He's showing her some items hanging on the wall, and one of them shows the Euro in the middle, with actual "dollar" bills or whatever they're called for all the countries who used the Euro going around it. She states she had never heard of the Euro, didn't know what it was. It ws clear based on the conversation she was completely clueless about the most basic shite you probably would want to know going into this industry.

I interviewed, thought it went really well but didn't get the job. I could only think that the absurdly hot chick go the job for being absurdly hot. The CEO was a pretty young ish, cool guy, so hey, I guess I can't blame him.

Unfortunately in today's world, one could be sued for asking such a challenging question and basing just 1/4th their hiring decision on the answer. Considered culturally biased or whatever the new clown world term for it is now.

this is unequivocally false...you seem like the type to make up scenarios about how oppressed you are.
