They really ship contacts w/out a scrip?

My vision hasn't changed since 4th grade and I'm 40, yet it's $300/yr to tell me what I already know.

They sure do. I've ordered from them before - same contacts that I buy here, no problems and prescription confirmation.

$300 for a eye doctor visit? You are getting raked over the coals.

Thanks for the tip, i may try them out.. I usually use Webeyecare, good prices but requires me to white-out and change the date on my old script every yr. :-). Before that used 1800contacts for yrs but then realized how obscenely overpriced they are.. Also, if anyone actually does need an eye exam, the cheapest place to go by far is Costco-- around $75 for a glasses/contacts eye exam last time i went 3 or 4 yrs ago, and you dont have to be a Costco member.

Nah that is everything included - doc visit and contacts. The doc visit is usually 150 or so.

I ordered some from England.

They are the same brand as my old ones and have been good.

Not much worse than running out of contacts, calling 1-800-contacts and them refusing to help you out, therefore creating a pain in the arse trip to the eye doctor.

i do this regularly and go to the eye doctor just once every 2-3 years.

it's really the principle of it more than anything else, there is absolutely no reason to require me to see an eye doctor every year in order to get new contacts.

You are too busy to get eye exams every year(that takes like 20-40 minutes) so you can know if your eyes(that you only have 2 of) are ok??

Why don't you have vision insurance?

ETA: if you are sticking contacts in your eyes every day, you don't see the need to routinely get your eyes checked to make sure they are ok?

That's where I am with this whole thing. Glasses 'scrips are 2-3 years, yet your eyeball shape is somehow going to drastically change in that same time frame? I think not.

I throw a fit everytime I go to the eye doc b/c I'm an immature a'hole.

While I agree with you, my prescription has changed 4 times in the 9 years I've worn contacts. I'm sure the difference wouldn't be dramatically noticeable but probably enough to where you would feel it was time to go in for a new exam.

I've used lens.com on an expired prescription for a couple of years now.
