I’m so done with how entitled and greedy these trick or treaters are. They are too lazy to even say trick or treat- they stick their grubby little hands in the bag without even making eye contact-This is NOT the way it was when I was a kid. Profanities- taking the whole bowl and dumping it in their bag-alcohol and drugs everywhere - ostentatious displays with decorations- overt sexualization of the holiday. It’s disgusting. Our culture is in real decline.

This is the last time I’m doing Halloween at The Villages.

We saw a few riding in the back of a pickup from house to house to trick or treat. Too frickin lazy to even walk for free candy.

"The world is passing through troublous times. The young people of today think of nothing but themselves. They have no reverence for parents or old age. They are impatient of all restraint. They talk as if they knew everything, and what passes for wisdom with us is foolishness with them. As for the girls, they are forward, immodest and unladylike in speech, behavior and dress."

Most of the bible is written by a pedophile.

Kids are self absorbed, also water is wet.

Some of you religious nutjobs are unbearable looking for signs of text justification from 2000 years ago to apply it to 2026

I noticed the number of trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood dropped big time. We usually have a couple hundred kids and I doubt we broke 100 this year. Maybe it’s because every fricking weekend some church or restaurant or group a sponsoring a trunk or treat. It was kind of sad.

Nextdoor app has a few Karen’s who are posting their pics of raccoons stealing the buckets left for take-one candy.

My complaint was the over politicization of everything. The amount of MAGA stuff and a “Vanilla Ice” Haircut / Border Patrol costume (which was pretty creative). I’m no liberal Democrat, but these kids can’t even vote.

Halloween is about ghosts, witches, monsters and ghouls … more Jason’s and Freddie Kruger’s and less MAGA.

Do you live in a ghetto? At our house we had a ton of kids and I would say the vast majority were polite and engaging.

If your argument requires insults and sweeping accusations, it needs a stronger foundation. Us Christians are called to love our neighbors, speak truth with grace, and protect the vulnerable. Those aren’t outdated beliefs- they still matter to good people in 2026. And dismissing those values is a big part of what’s contributing to the moral decay in society today IMO.

I do "Trunk or Treats" in several hoods, and love it. Little kids eyes as big a saucers, but it REALLY helps when the adults are fully engaged at these things. The issues you discuss do not happen, maybe because lots of adults and the close proximity. Gives me great hope on Next Generation trick or treaters.

Are you old enough to remember the trick part of the equation?

One poster, besides me, realized the hilarity of you mentioning a place in Florida, that is the retirement STD capital of the world.

He was making a joke about elderly people, in a retirement community, that is notorious for being...wild, especially for their age.
