Horror movie from 1982 called Pieces..
Ten-year-old Timmy Reston is berated by his mother for playing with a jigsaw puzzle of a nude woman. After she orders him to dispose of the puzzle, he returns with an axe, murders her, then dismembers her body with a hacksaw.
Later as an adult he starts killing women at a college in Boston with a chainsaw and using their body parts to make a human jigsaw puzzle.

Creature from Black Lake:
And I forget this one. That was 30
Miles from my grandparents house and the bayou behind their farm almost connected. When that mfer reaches through that window while the guy is taking a dump …fuuuuccckk
Creature from Black Lake is a 1976 American horror film written and directed by Joy N. Houck Jr. and starring Jack Elam, Dub Taylor, Dennis Fimple, John David Carson, and Bill Thurman. It follows two anthropology students from the University of Chicago who attempt to document the Fouke Monster, a Bigfoot-like creature who is said to torment a small Louisiana community.

The weekly showing of "Kolchak - The Night Stalker" was pretty scary for an 8 year old. Somehow I was in front of a tv when "Helter Skelter" was shown and knowing Charles Manson was alive terrified me for many, many years.

there were a ton of great made for tv horror movies in the 70s...one of the most memorable for me was "frankenstein, the true story"...there is a scene where the creature walks into a party where "the bride" is dancing...when she sees him, she tries to attack him, and he ends up ripping her head off at the suture line on her neck and dropping it on the floor...that image stuck with me for a long time

Jack the Ripper (1976)
Phantasm is tops for me. The whole mood and vibe is creepy and funeral homes still make my skin crawl.

Kolchak was played by Gavin Newsome, AKA Ralphie Parker’s “Old Man” in A Christmas Story.
That one about how he had to kill a zombie by filling its mouth with salt, and stitching it shut, then it sat up, scared the shite out of me as a kid.

Magic with Anthony Hopkins and that creepy ventriloquist dummy doll.

Not the 70s, but I’m 46 years old and to this day I won’t watch a Nightmare on Elm Street movie. When the bed ate that kid and projectile vomited up on that ceiling, I was scared for life.

For me, it's always
The Town That Dreaded Sundown
The fact that it was real coupled with the fact that he attacked kids who were parking to make out.
Made it harder to convince chicks to go park a fool around.
