Lots of non-rich folk in Endymion. Bacchus is a little more exclusive, but not much. I have friends involved in both krewes and none of these are "old money" or stupid rich or anything. Are they somewhat expensive, by my standards, hell, anything is expensive, but they're not old-line expensive.

Couple folks I know have their 18-20 y/o sons joining in Bacchus, suburban/Metry types.

I thought Druids would be hard to get into until this year.

Maybe new generations just don't parade.

My friend was in Druids for a while, but he and several others quit and said it was going downhill.

Rich people ride in those parades, so do the poors.

I know several very rich guys that ride, and I have twoemployees that ride that can barely afford their truck note during the year. Somehow they afford it.

For sure. My point was more to the "exclusive as hell" line.

The old-line krewes have a vetting process that tends to keep the non-rich out.

Rex you can buy your way into. Some of the other older parades, doesn't matter how rich you are, if you aren't connected, you aren't getting in.

But Endymion, Orpheus, Bacchus, etc? It's like buying LSU or Saints season tickets. Yes, you have some rich dudes in there, who buy the expensive bead packages and pay for float position upgrades.

But you got a lot of everyday baws in there who save all year long to ride and the ride is the highlight of their year.

Thoth is a bunch of everyday baws as well, but they have insisted on this weird membership cap.

What’s an old line Krewe and what’s the cost to ride?

Glassman is in charge of all OT old line applications.

Cosmo's working his way up the ladder to Comus.

How do you start a parade (Krewe)? Sounds like a good way to make some $$$

Comus and Momus. They don’t parade anymore. Knights of Chaos is made of a lot of ex members who want to parade.

Rex (the “king” of MG) stops at the throne of the Queen of Comus and bows to her at the MG Ball. So a bunch of stuffy’s say that shows you who the real boss is.

Many don’t even know they exist. And even fewer have chances of joining.

Who gives a frick though this shite only matters to people in New Orleans.

Form a social organization.

Charge dues. Form a board.

Apply for a parade permit (the city can be stingy about giving out new ones, these days)

Contract with a float builder

Find marching units

Plan a ball

Have ball and parade
