That depends. Is it discrimination for women’s sports to only allow those with woman on their birth certificate?
Can I send my son to an all girls school?
Can I send my daughter to an all boys school?

How is that even legal? What an idiot.
Is it a private club?

Of course it is, but the government isn't involved. Private clubs can discriminate, which is why the boy scouts didn't allow gays for so long.

Well she is dumb, but I was misapplying the recent SCOTUS decision to be in affect outside of the workplace.

Ask Fallon Fox.

Probably didnt want a bunch of bourbon street drag queen men trying to join her Krewe.
I see nothing wrong with this. If you don’t like it, start your own parade.

How is it discrimination? If it’s women only then heshes aren’t allowed. Identify as a billy goat if you want but the tools that God gave determine what sex you are - not ones weak mindedness.

Lea’s lawyer Ronald “Chip” Morrison said that the former members are misinterpreting the intention of the bylaw amendment.
The rules were updated “as a result of the Krewe receiving applications from men who wanted to join the Krewe.”
The rule was intended “to embrace all women, including those who had made the lifestyle choice to be female. Since it is an all-female krewe, the ladies who had transitioned to female would simply need to show a birth certificate issued at any time.”
This seems like a bit of a faux-controversy, but her enemies are running with it.

Morrison said that the amendment was a non-issue anyway, since “no one was ever asked to provide a birth certificate.”
“The only identification that is asked for prospective members is that a copy of a their driver’s license be submitted for age verification.”
Morrison said that the former member’s characterization of the amendment was meant “to disparage my client, and is nothing more than a group of school yard bullies."

No it wasn’t, or you would have written it that way.

Aren't there plenty of golf courses that won't allow women members? Aren't there plenty of private clubs that do this? Fraternities, sororities, etc. What's the big deal? It's an all female krewe. If you don't like it, form your own.

There desperately needs to be a reality show soap opera about this.

I didn't see the attorneys statement. You are correct, that is 100% spin on his part. It is clear that they intended to exclude transgenders. Regardless of if you agree or not, who didn't think this would cause an uproar? It is the times we live in that private clubs can't just make their own rules anymore.
The recent SCOTUS decision is the one that really blows my mind. I get that they want equal protection and all but can you imagine if you owned a company that sold to plants and oil field clients? Your long-time employee Steve shows up one day in a skirt, pumps, full beard and a long blonde wig and tells you that he is now to be addressed as Sharon. How the hell are you going to send that guy out in the field? But now you can't fire him either.

So its OK to exclude regular men, but if you try to exclude mentally challenged men that think they're woman, that's a no no?

FYI transgenders in Louisiana can have their birth certificated changed to show female if you have gender reassignment surgery.
The krewe is saying you need to be all in and chop your dick off if you want to join. Post-op transgenders are okay as long as you aren't just a drag queen.

Why can’t you send this hypothetical Sharon out in the field? Your whole premise here is that Sharon isn’t selling at the same level Steve did right? So you can fire the guy/gal for missing quotas/not bringing enough value to the company. Which is the entire point of the SCOTUS ruling. You can’t fire them for who they are, but you can fire them for what they do or don’t do.
I wouldn’t say “ever since you became a woman, your numbers have sucked so you’re fired” though.

required prospective members to have been designated female on their birth certificates, a little-known rule that apparently aimed to keep transgender people from the krewe.
Just so we're on the same page, this is bad but trans only parades are good, right?
Also, trans females to males would fit that provision right?
