I grew up in BR and always referred to it as Neutral Ground because I had family that lived uptown Nola. I always got funny looks though when I said it though.

Same. I had one on my street growing up in Baton Rouge and I never once heard the word “median”.

My whole family is as Uptown New Orleans as it gets though.

Put me in BR, Shreveport or Jackson but I am from Beaumont, TX. I guess that's accurate since there is no real difference in all those places.

It got me to Baton Rouge, Jackson, or Birmingham. I knew I wouldn’t get New Orleans because I say median and not neutral ground. I grew up in SW LA and live there now but also lived in BR for 12 years.

I must have confused it because the question it nailed me on was Y’all which is just southern.
Median
Crip class
Coke
Rummage sale
Devil whipping his wife
Traffic circle
Catty corner
I thought those would have put me closer to my area.

I know there is the idea that southerners say 'coke' as a catch-all term but I've never heard that happen. If you tell a waitress you want a coke, they aren't going to ask what kind. They're going to get you a damn Coke.
When I was kid everything was coke. I say soda now because it does seem silly but I’ll still say something to my wife like “pick up some cokes at the store”. It means pick up whichever brand we keep at the house. Or if you’re taking them somewhere for a party etc it means pick up a variety or whatever sounds good.

Probably depends how far removed their family is from moving out of the South if I had to guess.

I learned how to talk in Lafourche parish, but my parents are Alabama natives. I have spent maybe 5 out of my 50 years in Alabama and it put me in Birmingham.

I'm from New Orleans and when I was a kid and talking to my friends we'd ask each other if we wanted to go around the corner to the store and get a coke. I usually ended up with a Big Shot pineapple soda.

The dinner/supper thing I never heard anybody do ... except my dad. So I know that at least was a thing at one time.

I've spoken to people in central areas of Louisiana who refer to the meal around noon as "dinner" and the meal around 6pm as "supper." Threw me off in the conversation.
