Then he deserved what he got from the cop. Uber drivers think they can do whatever they want since they drive for uber, and abuse their power regularly
I appreciated the sarcasm, maybe others didn't get it.

With this incident and the countless others that are in the public eyes now, will cops change their behaviors?
The police reaction to this type shite overall is informative. MANY departments are pushing to outlaw or significantly limit people taking video of them while working.

I think that tells you a lot about the force mindset as a whole. They see all these videos of them being assholes or worse and they think the VIDEO is the problem.

Cops always have to be on the lookout for the next Stringer Bell.

Most of them do. You just don't listen because it doesn't fit your narrative that most cops are like the guy in the video.

That's complete bullshite. The real question becomes...are you being willfully dishonest when you state this or do you simply not know you're wrong?

Fact is, nearly every time a video gets posted here that shows a LEO seemingly abusing their power, we get a string of LEO's defending their behavior and then a string of non LEO sycophants coming to knight for them. It's RARE when any of them say anything remotely like what the commissioner did in this case...and you know it.

Anyone who think s MOST cops are like this is a fricking moron...same as anyone who thinks most Muslims are like ISIS is a fricking moron. The problem with both is that both groups have FAR too many good people in their ranks that feel the need to enable the shitty behavior by remaining quiet. And when they do that, they deserve to be lumped in with the shitheads...

Being removed from the Joint Terrorism Task Force to another division likely is a punishment. That is a prestigious assignment and There aren't too many divisions he could be transferred to that would be quite the same. I do wonder if his pay will be adjusted lower to match any demotion.

The "remain quiet" part is the problem.

I expect bad apples in any organization but cops are like a fricking team. For YEARS, every time a citizen said they were fricked with, NOT A SINGLE COP who was on the scene EVER supported the citizen. I literally can't think of a single case where this occurred EVER.

Now that video is everywhere wouldn't ya know it. Turns out, opportunities for cops to do the right thing are COMMON. They just didn't.

Even worse is the myriad times the bystander cops have remained silent while a citizen gets shite on and THEN video shows up.

So, I'm sorry. As a group, the police are corrupt as frick cause even those not engaging in the bull shite keep their mouths SHUT.

Hmm. Non sequitor.

The person you are responding to said it would be nice if the usual suspects did like the Chief did.

Alas, since this a-hole is pretty much indefensible, they've gone ghost.

Ah so the goal posts are moving already. Fun.

The person I was responding to also said this :

Way to bring your racism into a completely unrelated thread. Apparently it would be racist to ban you for your blatant race baiting.

Who's we? Stop segregating yourself.

Just pointing out a blatant fact. Twice within the last couple of months we have seen cops quickly apologize (rightfully so) for roughing up immigrants.

But we have PDs that gun our own innocent kids and people down and they end up blaming the death on the victims...

It's not hard to see what's going on here

I took your comment as "we" being the black community. Someone's family may deserve an apology. And his friends. But an entire community of people do not deserve an apology.

To which case are you referring. Please God tell me you aren't talking about Michael Brown.

Find me a quote of me suggesting anyone had defended it...just one.

In fact, here is my first post which you felt the need to pop off about...

quote:

Boy...is THIS an unusual statement! Kudos to this guy for saying what ought to be said far more often...

“No good cop should watch that video without a wince,” Commissioner Bill Bratton said at a Wednesday press conference. “Because all good cops know that officer just made their jobs a little bit harder.”

Why does it seem so god damned hard for most of our resident LEO's to do the same when videos like this show up...?

That's blatantly obvious to everyone here. Oh...the LEO's may find "reasons" for why most times they will almost uniformly defend the actions of guys LIKE THIS, but nearly every time we see a video like this is full on defense mode for the fellow LEO.

Fact is, if more LEO's did what the commissioner did in this case, there would be FAR less outcry from the public. Instead, you tend to get a bunch of wagon circling.

The Walmart guy in Ohio wasn't in the last couple of months but that shite was crap. That was one of the worst examples of egregious police work I've ever seen. They fricking shot the dude while he was on his f'n cell phone and used the fact that people in the store were in a panic to justify their stupidity.

Not familiar with Tamir.
