That's part of the story I never saw reported. What was he doing to get pulled over, or was it just that he was black and driving a nice car?
Did you read the link?
quote:
The officer was trying to park an unmarked car along the West Side Highway in Greenwich Village without using a blinker, according to statements made in the video.
That’s when the Uber driver pulled around and gestured at the plainclothes cop — sending him into a rage.

He honked at the cop.
Then he deserved what he got from the cop. Uber drivers think they can do whatever they want since they drive for uber, and abuse their power regularly

Boy...is THIS an unusual statement! Kudos to this guy for saying what ought to be said far more often...
“No good cop should watch that video without a wince,” Commissioner Bill Bratton said at a Wednesday press conference. “Because all good cops know that officer just made their jobs a little bit harder.”
Why does it seem so god damned hard for most of our resident LEO's to do the same when videos like this show up...?

Most of them do. You just don't listen because it doesn't fit your narrative that most cops are like the guy in the video.

Yea, you have no idea what you're talking about. I've been in the car with my dad, who has a top of the line Mercedes, in a very affluent area of New Orleans and he's been stopped a half dozen times for no reason at all.
FYI white people get stopped too for bullshite all the time. It's how they make half of their meth busts around here.
I always look at the slideshows of the mugshots of the week and it always says they were pulled over for some bullshite reason like illegal lane change and upon search of the vehicle the cops find meth.
I am sure that black people are profiled more, but when 12% of the population accounts for over half of the crime and the majority of our inmate population, it's more playing the odds than it is profiling IMO.

Well IMO your opinion is, excuse my language, horse shite. A black man in a business suit in an affluent area in a luxury vehicle isn't the same thing as pulling over some low level street dealers on a hot corner in the hood.

I think you're using a lot of hyperbole to drive your point home.

Are you serious? If you don't act a fool and drive a nice car, ESPECIALLY the kind of car he can afford, you don't get pulled over just for being black.

The difference between an affluent area and the ghetto is about 1/4 mile.
How do you think drew Brees gets to practice in Kenner? Drives through the ghetto

None of the rich black people in my neighborhood get pulled over unjustly. Which affluent area are you having a problem with?
Posted on 4/3/15 at 7:20 am to Street Hawk
frick that guy. His entire family and friends should be embarrassed.

That cop is a POS. I'm glad he's on bitch work now.

Hey did you here RDRGEAUX dad drives a top of the line Mercedes and wears expensive business suits? Oh and BTW, he drives around Hollygrove and wonders why he's gotten pulled over at least 6 times.

You mean the huge national story about the guy who acted like an a-hole and was arrested for it? I remember that. I also remember the call to the police said there were two possible suspects and the police needed to check it out to make sure the man was safe. He refused and became belligerent so they arrested him for that. Not because he was a black guy.

Also, did u forget about the story of the black guy who owned a home in an affluent area, got locked out his home and when he tried to get inside the cops arrested him because they couldn't believe he owned that house?
It was a huge national story like 2 or 3 years ago
If black people weren't so compelled to drive such nice cars or own fancy houses, then maybe these situations could be avoided. But nope, they would rather play the victim.
