Man, you're an idiot.

You think we haven't seen your routine.

Any link he provides you where cops in here defended like crazy, you're just going to say, "well, that wasn't blatant misconduct" and side with the cops.

Good fricking lord, you're the damned problem. The next time you find that someone assumes you're part of a shite organization, just remember that. YOU ARE part of a shite organization and YOU are a fine example of it.

Nope, Rob just would rather hurl insults instead of providing one shred of support for the claims I questioned.

This dude is an a-hole and deserves to be kicked off the force, especially if he has a history of this kind of behavior.

I hate to read these kind of stories for two reasons.

First, it is despicable to see this kind of behavior, particularly from someone in a position of authority who is supposed to protect and serve the public.

Second, it makes the job that much harder for the majority of cops who are quality individuals. The police chief said as much in the article. I'm not sure if there is a career field in this country that gets more flak for the actions of a minority of its members than cops.

I give a cop the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise, as I would with any other profession. I'm also not afraid to hold the shitty cops responsible for their actions, and I believe the majority of the public holds the same sentiment. Unfortunately stories like this are becoming so prevalent that the good cops, the majority of cops, are starting to lose the battle in the court of public opinion.

I don't know what it will take to stem the tide, because we all know that good news doesn't seem and good cop stories aren't going to get much press, but I hope things change soon.

Yep. And, when you provide an example, he'll just say, "well, that was justified so, you haven't provided an example".

He's an arse.

This, I've noticed his routine for years. Easier just to glance over and choose to not reply.

He will argue your point and refuse to look at anything you provide him to counter his stance.
He claims to keep an "open mind" on issues, but ALWAYS jumps on the side that is seen as "wrong" by the majority, in these debates. He likes to play Devil's Advocate.

Being right is a tough burden. Especially around here if you call out someone's blanket statement that they won't defend.

So shouldn't I be defending this cop? If I'm just here to play devil's advocate, why am I not doing that?
