Hey, it would be great if no one took drugs but thats not reality. It's cheaper to provide clean needles, safe areas to take drugs, etc than to deal with all the OD deaths.

And knowing what we know now about the FBI, I wonder how trumped up some of those charges against the mafia were.

I wonder if that’s some stock image or that girl really agreed to be the face of responsible heroin use

The War on Drugs is over; drugs won.

Time to legalize drugs and treat them like any other retail vice.

Funny, many on this board wanted exactly this recently. NOT everyone, not by any means, but now this is a chance to see what would happen if it is done in a major city, soemthing to keep an eye on, who was right with their predictions -

Seems awfully chunky for any heroin user who isn’t Artie Lange.

Sure I’ll get eaten alive but I find it pragmatic. Like others have said - drugs won.

Educating users to reduce risks and still working to get this shite off the streets are not mutually exclusive.

This. Strategy and help are more effective than the backward technique of virtue signaling and shame. This thread is filled with people who still think drug addiction is an issue of morality, indicating that they do not take the issue seriously.

I point out that the cartels don’t want dead 10 year olds either,

It depends on whether or not the 10 year olds were beneficial to them - the cartel has no qualms about killing children

As for the mafia - they need to make a reappearance in NYC, NOLA, and Chicago

Providing clean needles and the idiotic message on this asinine poster are not the same. This ad makes using sound virtuous

No, it isn’t. A drug addict is not going to learn. He will OD again and again. Best to let him enjoy a peaceful exit the first time. He can’t deal with life and letting him pass on his own terms is humane.

It's cheaper to ignore the steadily increasing illegal immigration crisis in order to build up voter capital to ensure future elections than it is to deal with all the OD deaths. 73,000 dead from fentanyl last year. The large majority is being trafficked from China via cartels across the southern border. But I'm not saying something everyone doesn't already know.

Stopped reading there. Not listening to illegal immigration gripes for the rest of my life. You got your guy, he promised a wall, and walls work. Anybody still whining about it gets tuned out by me.
