Are they justified?
In any normal American town... yes.
In NYC... probably not.

Wait so I'm supposed to believe the driver stabbed the guy while driving his car?
WTF?
WTF?

If you read the story, its not a typical carjacking. It was a road rage incident.

Two men got into a minor traffic dispute Tuesday afternoon on McGuinness Boulevard by Norman Avenue in Greenpoint. The drivers got out, words were exchanged and the fight started.
According to the 24-year-old victim, McClean tried to attack him with a knife, then went into his car and stole his car keys. As McClean tried to escape, the victim is seen desperately trying to get his keys back, but McClean drives away, pinning and dragging the victim with his car.

Are they justified for *shuffles notes* attempting to drive away from a violent crime?

That video warmed my heart. Hopefully, the car jacker died.

Dude will think twice about trying carjacking in the future, if he can still think at all (as if he ever could).
ETA typical democrat. Just being lazy and leaving it on the plate of the next mofo to have to set it up

Ah, the old "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes" ploy.
I OK the outcome.
I OK the outcome.

Any time you choose to accost another person and make them fear for their safety, you should expect that it may cost you your life.
How is that even a question?

I'm so confused.
Prior to the start of this video, the "carjacker" was driving in the Toyota that's stopped behind the van in the clip. He cut off the white Hyundai and apparently sideswiped the passenger side. They came to a light, both got out and started fighting - the Hyundai driver wielding a box cutter. During the fight, the Hyundai driver opened the Toyota, grabbed its keys, and ran back to his car. That's where this clip picks up.
The Toyota driver isn't carjacking the Hyundai. He's trying to get his keys back. The Hyundai driver hits the gas, and according to him, the Toyota driver pulls the wheel and causes the collision with the van.
The Hyundai driver was charged with attempted murder and leaving the scene of an accident. Eventually he pled to something - I'm not sure what, but likely significantly less than what was charged - and was ultimately released with mandatory counseling. There's no carjacking - just two jackasses road raging.

Read the actual story in the comments. It wasn't a carjacking and that poor guy was a victim. He lived though.

A progressive judge is going to rule that the driver (victim) go to jail and the perps "walk" free (if they can). Victim will then have to pay for the perp's medical expenses along with pain and suffering. Victim will then have to give perp's family the car as well.

Your title doesn't match the detailed description of what happened in the 3rd post. The posted description seems to be accurate given the guy in white shirt trying to break it up

Well then, in my scenario, he would be the one going to jail under the leadership in NY today.

Police radio: "Be on the lookout for a dude in all black limping badly..."

Well, story is apparently WAY different than posted.
