I read an interview Giuliani did years ago talking about what he did to clean the city up. The one thing that he did that is a complete 180 from what Deblasio has done is he focus crime fightning efforts. Neighborhoods, buildings etc that were responsible for the highest crime got the highest scrutiny. He also made sure cops were visible throughout the city. Walk down the streets and and you will come across cops. Contrast that with today and I don't know if NYC can repeat his success. The people bought into the propaganda that law enforcement is the problem and I just don't see a turnaround real soon.

We just have to give them more money right? That’s what I’ve been told. If we just give them more money and less police involvement all their problems go away.
