Thats a lot of demands for an industry in rapid decline.

Glad I decided to ditch software engineering to be a Cloud Architect a decade ago. It's nice knowing how to code scripts but it's just not going to sustain a career with AI around.

AI depends on cloud infrastructure to work so my job security is as good as it gets.

It goes from bad to worse real quick
Frick these clowns.

And you didn't list the best one. They are a news agency, and the employees need mandatory trigger warnings in company meetings discussing events in the news.

Did you read their demands?

Absolutely.

However you choose to work for a company that requires more, and complain about it.

The NYT won't be missed. These demands are only the beginning of decreasing profits for the company.

Gen AI skills are a hot commodity right now but I will slowly make my move towards the education side of things over the next 5 years.

a four-day work week coupled with significant increases in pay, full coverage of all health care premiums for employees and family members, guaranteed RSU grants for all members of the unit, and non-performance-based annual bonuses, all of which the company estimates would cost over $100 million over three years.

My favorite:

non-performance-based annual bonuses

That's just more salary. These people want to work less, do a shittier job, and get paid substantially more.

Couldn't be happening to a worse organziation, so I love to see it.

The most popular new programming language is called Rust, so there's a joke in there somewhere.

Beat me to it.

They should ask for more, like free, culturally sensitive breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Company-provided commuting service, nap chambers, heated and cooled office chairs, bedet's in all washrooms, and more.

Go on, ask. No, demand.

I don't side with unions that push racism and ask for ridiculous demands.

Unlimited breaks? You serious Clark?
