I'll throw this one out there though.
In my opinion there are two types of people that work in nursing home care.
Those that genuinely care and as a result get torn up with having to deal with death after death of people they cared for each year, resulting in them either getting jaded or unable to continue.
Those who either have become numb, or never really gave a shite to start with, and go through the motions every day.
It can't be helped. Its simply human nature. And you should be aware of it before placing a loved one in a home.

What do you expect from the people watching them.
You pay cheap wages, you get shitheads like those.
It's a f'in sham, i've watched it at the grocery store, a shithead escorting down syndrome adults, and she starts with her Miss thang attitude and treats them like shite.

Maybe for cna's but I'm sure a pt ot or slp can start around 70k as a new grad.
The problem is the level of care that is being provided doesn't equal the to cost of staying in many snf's. Not to mention the therapy some provide
However I do wonder where the profits go to since more people will get admitted due to aging baby boomer population in the future.
Many snf's know how to work their way around the Medicare system.
Maybe for cna's but I'm sure a pt ot or slp can start around 70k as a new grad.

Of course they do
This is why insurance companies are getting tighter with regulations especially Medicare and documentation. The reimbursement rates get lowered yet productivity for snf's continue to remain high.
