The thread in the Political Talk board covering a podcast on nuclear war got me wondering how Armageddon would play out down here.

We’d be lucky to have 30 minutes from initial warning until the big kaboom.

Do you think there would be a thread about our end on Tiger Droppings?

Would baws rush to mow their lawns like before big storms?

During Katrina, if you evacuated, you couldnt get a call out, even if you werent in Nola. Only text messages worked.

Nuclear war? We'd be lucky to launch a full Pron Bomb retaliatory strike on the OT.

Or go down because the size of crawfish would be equal to a CRV. Just need a bigger pot.

Crawfish sizes would be ridiculous in 30 years though so maybe the farmers would go easy on the new inhabitants.

Every 100k+ city has a guy that says his city would be the first to go because it’s a strategic city to a war effort.

Aiken has one.
Leesville has one.
Tricities has one.
Columbus ga has one.
Monroe has one.
Raleigh has one.

Every city has a guy that says it.

The next city down the road from me has a Campell's soup canning facility and a Pepperidge farms bakery. The wind blows from there to my house so I would be duked, nuked, fooked, rebuked, and puked on.

Of course they would....they'd be pre-boiled.

Those bomb shelters in New Orleans would look like the Superdome after Katrina. I’d probably just take my chances with the blast.

30 minutes my arse. NORAD and the lot are going to take half that time to confirm launches, launch counterstrikes, and all of us are going to be on Teams/Webex calls when the alert comes in.

I'm lucky. I'm within five miles of hundreds of medical offices and hospitals. My area will be targeted by a couple of warheads, let alone what is going to happen to Baytown, Galveston, etc. I will never know what happened, but I will no longer need to pay child support.

Baton Rouge has the 6th largest oil refinery in America. Garyville (40 miles away) is the 4th. Lake Charles has the 8th largest. Number 1 is in Port Arthur, right on the southwest border between us and Texas. This entire region would be a glowing wasteland 1 minute after DC was hit if the buttons were pushed.
