I love my Huscvarna equipment but my mowers do have some great Kawasaki motors on them.

Upon further investigation the tractors are made in georgia. The chainsawan small engines are made in about 6 different countries including china
You would be surprised that in the manufacturing industry and food production industry how much cross production is done.
One factory could be contracted to manufacture mowers for Murray. The same factory gets a second contract to build same or similar mowers for Walmart under its Hyper Tough line. The mowers are similar and just have a different name and may have a slightly different composition and could have a different quality.
For mowers and other lawn equipment, Briggs and Stratton would supply the motor, manufacturers would take that motor and give it life as power washer, lawn mower, weed eater, blower, chain saw, etc.
It could devastating if they shut down and force manufacturers to look at other small engines.

People would be surprised how much of that goes on within a brand.
When I bought my last mower, I looked around and got a good deal on a previous year model 54" Husqvarna with a 24 HP Kawasaki motor. I didn't want a B&S, Kholer was an option, but the Kawasaki sold me. I bought it from an independent dealer who needed to move it. It was new and under warranty.
I noticed that Lowes had the "same" mower. It was the same HP Kawasaki motor and the same width cut. However, everything was cheapened down. The back axle was sized down considerably. The deck was nowhere near the quality (mine wasn't even a welded deck), and it was priced nearly a grand more than I paid for mine. The mower was the same model and everything.
When I went back to the place I bought mine to get an oil filter, I asked the guy about it. He just said, "That's Lowe's."

He did his homework before that zinger. Every now and then El gaucho Will show his stripes... and it’s fairly straightforward.

The big block fuel injected Briggs motors are the best high output mower engine going. I hope they keep it around

I hope Snapper is going to take their 82v electric battery system/line. I assume that was just a marketing gimmick and that briggs had nothing to do with it other than branding.

I don’t think Home Depot buying this is a great move because of the decaying market and battery powered push.

I have a Toro with a B&S engine..It is 12 years old and starting to show wear...90% of the time it starts on the first pull. And that 90% just started this year previous years always on the first pull. It blows a little smoke when I tilt it back when turning in the grass..

Briggs went downhill ever since ditching the side valve and going strictly with the OHV.

Just bought a battery operated Kobalt push mower.
I got tired of my push mower Briggs & Stratton engine dying after a few years.
This is why we buy Honda small engines.

So they couldn't make a $6.7 million dollar interest payment but paid out $6.7 million in bonuses before they declare bankruptcy? Sounds like that should be illegal as all get out. THIS is what's wrong with today's executives. It's not enough to be a millionaire they all want to be Gates or Bezos,etc... It's not enough to unless they get several million or billions. Immoral, and THIS is why many American companies suffer. GREED !
