I'm voting psychotic episode instead of drug addict.

She looks too polished to be an addict - she's clean, reasonably well dressed, healthy (clear skin, clean hair, etc.) I mean it's possible someone slipped some LSD into her morning Starbucks latte, but drug addicts usually look like what they are.

Psych cases on the other hand can be deceptive. They can go from normal to crazy at the turn of a hat when they have an episode or go off their meds.

Laughing is also something someone does in an uncomfortable situation.

I remember I got blamed for something in middle school that I didn't do and I laughed at the assistant principal and she suspended me because I was obviously guilty for laughing at the entire situation.
