SIL and BIL and 3 kids lived with us for 5+ yrs…moved out in Aug( thank god).
BIL’s mom is truly a nightmare, ignorant, trashy, liar and hates my wife whose sister is married to her only non ex convict son who has also helped them out tremendously for years.
BIL wanted to have us over for thanksgiving but we declined because the nightmare was going to be there. We did go have dinner with them a couple of nights before and I wanted to share some her comments…
- had some level of cancer but continually says it’s stage 4, she obviously doesn’t as she goes hiking and camping and shows no signs of sickness.
-the stage 4 thing is especially galling to my wife and SIL because their mom died with stage 4 cancer over 10 years ago.
-she said dr prescribed her one medication to lose weight because her cancer is in her fat…and if she loses fat she will have less cancer.
-Dr said she will lose 50 lbs in 2 months…I asked if she was on chemo, she said never had it.
-she said her medicine is 12k a month and insurance only covers 1/2…she has no money.
Needless to say we had a great drama free Thanksgiving with just my wife, FIL, MIL, wife’s brother and GF.

My 15 yr old black lab is pissing out of his a-hole for the 3rd Thanksgiving in a row after telling everyone he should not be fed human food (because he pisses out of his a-hole every single time that happens-Ive had 15 yrs of judgment on the matter)

And im nursing my favorite old man tonight because he's well, doing exactly that.

Pretty tame one by my family’s standards. My husband and I did early Thanksgiving on Tuesday with elderly relatives in LC that can’t travel. Then we brought a turkey he smoked to the main one at my brother’s house in BR. My 17 year older nephew that goes to Catholic High came home stoned af after “lunch” at his girlfriend’s house. We cracked a couple of jokes between the 2 of us, but no one else seemed to notice. It was fun as shite playing some kind of stick figure fighting game with him and my younger nephew on their Xbox (I got off easy on the cooking and was tasked with entertaining the kids). My (grown) kids couldn’t make it down this year, so I was happy to have some kid time.

Overall, pretty good. Hope all y’all that are travelling have safe trips home.

Well, he does drive a hybrid sedan…

Just kidding. I know for a fact he’s just very good at barbecue. Together almost 30 years and I have no complaints or suspicions. But that was a good one.
