Nothing unique about the look of Mercedes Benz today

Watching the pregame for the SEC championship and the hype about the Mercedes Benz stadium and the ads moved me to look at the MB website.

Nothing looks to unique to me. They could all be Nissans or Fords or something.

Used to be MB looked unique. The old 300Ds and SLs you could pick out of any line up of cars.

Same for Volvo. The old boxy look was ugly to most but it meant safety and they had a niche.

Do you think abandoning the old iconic looks was smart or not?

If the MB lineup doesn't look unique to you then you just aren't a car guy.

Pretty soon the State will have to offer tax credits to get people to buy them.

Eh, they don't really look all that great to me. The interiors are badass, though (AMG GT excluded, obviously).

MB certainly does not have the quality advantages over the other manufacturers they used to have

One of my employees has one of those c300s--probably on a 6 year note or a lease.

I would confuse my Corolla for one of those in the parking lot. That is just a car.

I know Lexus is a "luxury" Toyota but I actually do mistake my Corolla for whatever the model is that looks like a Corolla. Someone has one in my building.

I am not a car guy. Just get me there.

When you saw this car from a distance you knew it was a Benz.

Remove the emblem and this one could be a Honda or a Toyota or a Nissan or a Hyundai

That’s because Nissan and Ford copy MB designs and features.

I love the older style German cars, especially from the 80s and early 90s. Very distinctive. I've rebuilt one BMW, and I'd love to get my hands on something else from that era. I would love to get something like an SL-Class.
