Meeting was pretty much a summary of the day. Before the meeting an email was sent. It read 2018 parade will proceed as planned and no change on scheduled events.Any future updates will come directly from the Krew and to not pay attention to any other sources.
Meeting went over times schedules etc. We will wrap floats tomorrow as we are expecting rain. will unwrap before we roll. NOPD said we are to roll on the scheduled day or not roll at all. Im sure if there is a threat for severe weather on sat (which is not the case) they wouldn't take that stance. Its bascially going to be a wet weekend and there is no point of moving the Citys biggest parades day and route when its going to be wet the other days as well.
Also ext will go on as planned. they will try and let all floats enter the dome. If they feel there is a safety concern, they will stop the floats and just end at the dome

I’m just asking because everything I’m hearing and reading from the local guys are calling for thunderstorms, not just showers and light rain.

The pattern of a stalled front with impulses riding the boundary typically yield that. Off and on, light to moderate rain appears to be the dominant feature of the forecast with some risk of a heavier band rolling in at a few random points though the weekend.
Forecast stands practically unchanged from when we started the thread Monday morning.

No reason to change into a tux at all. The costume will dry quickly. Bring a change of clothes to wear under.

I assumed we would have to be either in wet costume or a tux. As 610 pointed out earlier, the costume should dry quickly and I'll just bring a change of clothes.

Yes and I think it's dumb. I'm getting the wife to bring a change of clothes for me. They always threaten that we have to keep the costume on or we will get in trouble but I've never seen them do anything to anyone when they aren't in costume anymore. Hell my pants are usually ripped to shreds by the end of the ride anyway.

I've always seen a few tuxes left in the dressing room for later - seemed like an unnecessary activity, but people like what they like I suppose.

Our float lieutenant was some purple LSU wind pants that he always wears instead of costume pants, no one has ever said a word. You can also turn the costume pants into shorts. Mine are usually ripped before we roll.

I look at wunderground, and it currently shows Friday and Sunday as not too bad, but Saturday is almost 90% at all times. Could this still change, if so how much?
