Hardly extreme enough for flooding to be of any concern.

If they talk to any local weatherpeople and the NWS, they are consulting with people who have what I showed and much more. If they are using the weather app on their phone...well that's a different story and they should stop and consult the area pros.

Duke, what about Sunday? Would be great to get something workable for both days.

A quick scan of the GFS looks better than Saturday and the Canadian model has no rain. Euro I can't see precip predictions on but I don't see anything radically different on it compared to the others. In short, Sunday looks good to go if a little rainy off and on during the day.
The overall look on the computers follows what the NWS has been saying. Off and on rain all weekend. Clouds. Warm. No event dropping over an 1" for any 24 period and no six hour period with a heavy rain situation. It's all looking really good imo.

Yep, 3 on Friday, if moved. The rain %'s are changing, may be a good sign. Just need a clearing on Saturday.
Now you're making shite up.

Endy people often use channel 8, they would bring Bob Breck in on the Tuesday meeting. The meeting tonight, David Bernard will probably be there giving an update.

Just watched Bruce Katz, now he didn't get specific on times, but said rain chances are 70%. His spin is not as positive as yours. Just said its hard to time it up, Endymion said they are making a decision Thursday morning, by that time, how much clearer will things be? Thx Duke!!

Thursday morning through Thursday night will be a dry period behind the front. Surface high pressure shifts east over the mid Atlantic by Friday and onshore flow returns. Scattered showers and maybe a couple storms are expected beginning early Friday morning as moisture moves back in. The big picture for this weekend is that wet weather is in store. Looking aloft and to the west, a 500 mb trough anchored over Baja California Friday morning will be nearly cut off. Its positions will place the central Gulf Coast under an extended period of southwest flow aloft. Saturday the upper trough will begin to shift east and enhance our southwest flow. As it does showers and storms look to become more widespread. The trough will also be sending subtle waves through in pieces. Periods of heavier and more widespread rain will occur as these waves move overhead, but specific timing is not possible. With plenty of Gulf moisture rain could be locally heavy at times from any stronger storms this weekend, through right now about 2 inches area wide is in the forecast Saturday and Sunday. A front may then be coming through the central Gulf Coast Monday, but there have been inconsistencies in model runs beyond this weekend. Overall southwest flow is expected to remain in place aloft, therefore rain is carried in the forecast through the end of this package.
So not as rosy of a picture from LIX this afternoon, mentioned higher end potentials than I have eluded to. I don't know if the mention of two inches area wide is on a per day basis for the weekend or an overall (which is in line with what they've been saying previously). Note the timing of heavier stuff not being possible to nail down.
I'm still pretty damn optimistic about the parades going as scheduled, but there's some muddiness based on the discussion this afternoon.
