“Having explored all options, it was determined that there is no viable way -- in fairness to every parade krewe -- to alter the parade schedule," Harrison said. "The decision has been made: there will be no change in the parade schedule this weekend. All parades will roll as planned on their assigned day and route. The NOPD will work with every krewe on the day of their scheduled parade to be flexible on the start times, should inclement weather make that necessary.”
Makes sense. It's not like there is one shite day and the rest sunshine... it's a complete guess at this point and the inconvenience is not worth it.

You have kept posting a rosy picture for Saturday when literally every weather website that is mainstream keeps upping the rain chances
I've said it's going to be raining but not that worried about big storms and quicky spurts of heavy rain.
The chance of rain concerns area coverage of any rain falling, not the amount of rain. 100% can mean 1/2" to 1" or 4"+.

Upping the percentage of area experiencing rain doesn't mean the volume of rain will be greater.

Yeah I get that. I also get that this is just people worrying if the parades will actually roll but there are others like myself who aren't riding that will be deterred from going with elevated rain chances all day.

Percentage chance that any part of the viewing area that will experience rain. It says nothing about where or how much. It could be 1/2 inch in lakeview or 10 inches in mid city.

Good, less people to fight through.

Me and mine will be out there no matter what. We're all 23 with no families. We were built for a weekend like this.

This. I’ve got my poncho ready. Beer me up, and I’m good to drunkenly dance in the rain.

Would usually go in the rain but not now with a 6 month old

At a certain point of water soakage, it becomes really fun. A few years back, I was absolutely drenched and a perfect level of drunk and it was one of my favorite years.

But the temp dropped what seemed like 30 degrees and the wind blew it's arse off out of the North.. Buddy of mine who rode with us was soaked and froze his arse off...
He had to put down a fifth of Crown to warm up..lol
I think we may have been on the same float that year! It was freaking cold.Though I went through a bottle of makers as opposed to the crown

Me and a different krewe were at the Tennessee game this year and that was some of the most fun I've had in a long time.
