There’s always a Krewe meeting the Tuesday before the parade.
11yr member here.

I’ve rode behind Bacchus 3 times, and 5 years ago it rained heavy until 430, cleared up and we rolled.
I’d say Bacchus is overly due for a reschedule.

It’s too early to predict the weather for Saturday, but Endymion won’t reschedule until late Friday, if at all.

Here’s to a beautiful Saturday

If not, we party hard Saturday at the extravaganza and roll Sunday. shite happens.

Rainfall rates don't appear to be too extreme at this time. Only concern is during Endymion but that's subject

So Saturday am is looking okay? I have 60 tucks riders to facepaint Saturday morning and I’d really like to get paid before they turn into wet melted messes.

Look at it this way...

You’ll roll around the dome a few times, party at the extravaganza Saturday and then feel like shite and ride on Sunday...maybe.
Two days of partying.

It’s really not that bad, unless you have work Monday, don’t expect to exit the float until 1 or 2am. It’s a long day riding behind Bacchus.

frick that, I’ve been in 19 years, riding on Sunday sucks. Unless it’s lightning on Saturday, I anticipate to be rolling.

The people who live Uptown hate the Endymion parade. When we had to ride that route, we had to cut some oak tree branches bc the tops of the float would not fit under them. They had people outraged over that.
Plus after Katrina, Endymion could not ride Mid city for a variety of reasons. One was bc the Canal streetcar line was being replaced. Once that was completed we were able to ride the Mid city route.
Riding after Bacchus sucks. I hope never to do that again. Def looks like it will be a wet Saturday and weekend.

As of now but the when of the rain is really a crapshoot. It's going to be off and on stuff all weekend. All the rain and storms will be pulling out of the SW, so a radar check showing a blob coming from that direction is a good sign there will be rain.

If it's bad enough that the parade doesn't roll on the route, it isn't going to be rolling in the Dome.

Speculation right now is that the city is already preparing for an Endymion washout, and moving them uptown behind Bacchus on Sunday.

I remember the last time this happened. Gonna be a clusterfrick.

I was supposed to go to Thibodaux. I’d rather cut grass.

Sunday looks identical to sat. Why in the hell would they push us behind Bacchus if the weather is going to be the same thing?

Endymion had only been moved to Sunday twice, 06 and 11. It was canceled all together back in the 70s due to the police strike. So in its 50 past years, it's only been moved twice. If we rolled in 11, we can roll in anything. Safety is a concern however I think another concern is the floats and the lighting/screens on the floats getting wet

My bad, you’re right, everytime that happened the extravaganza was at the convention center and the floats were already there and we rolled around inside a few times.

I know, man. I’ve just learned not to stress myself out all week over it.

Way too early, bro! We’ll be good, I have a good feeling.
