Usually what happens when Mardi Gras occurs in early February. Too early.
Yep, can't stand an early MG, sneaks up on you after the holidays..

So this doesn’t seem very positive, but again comes back to timing I guess.

The happy hour GFS model run shows why you don't get too hung up on the forecast this far out. Shifts the rain back to a bigger issue Sunday and has the heavy band well east fricking up Joe Cain Day in Mobile.
Still got 2"+ through Mardi Gras day, that is consistent. Just drops more o it Sunday and Monday. Obviously, subject to change but this should illustrate the idea. There's going to be a stalled front across the area. Little rainy impulses will ride it and dump a little rain, exactly when is for a magician or psychic to answer at this point.

So now Thoth and Bacchus get the rain? Any chance its gets pushed into Monday?

I interpreted that as everyone gets rain, but now Sunday is just blessed with the worst part of the rain.

The 06 Mardi Gras was spectacular, it felt like a big to Katrina.
Every Mardi Gras pales in comparison to this one. Mostly because it was mainly locals and not douche tourists
That was a great Mardi Gras. Also, the 2010 Mardi Gras a week after the Saints won the Super Bowl was tough to beat. The crowd that I saw on the streets when Brees was the King of Bacchus was unlike anything I've ever seen for a regular parade (though the next year when Endymion got rained out and followed Bacchus, the crowd was the second biggest I ever saw).

You’re the only one saying anything remotely positive for Saturday, so I’ll blindly follow this.

It’s still so far out
True, last weekend when I looked this past Sunday it showed a wash out as of either Thursday or Friday. Sunday was perfect.
This just blows for all parades. Obviously I’m concerned about Sunday but I hate it for all parades.

Hopefully this thing continues to stall and doesn't make it here til Wednesday.
My weekend will be a wet hungover cluster frick if Endy rolls Sunday.
Extravaganza Saturday Night
Ride Endymion late Sunday to early AM
Orpheuscapade Monday night
Mardi Gras Tuesday Morning

First part is right, second part is "maybe". There's nothing to be set in stone and the focus of the heavy rain will change time wise and location wise.
I'm of the mind the projected rain totals don't look too bad and that all the parades will run as scheduled, if a bit wet for most of them. There's still too much uncertainty to you know...erm...be certain at this juncture.

So you've already been with her, which means you already have them. You should save the insults for someone that can actually make good ones.
Your buddy call for that backup, or did you just see a friend in need?
I’ll think of all the clever comebacks when I’m stuck inside with all the rain this weekend, maybe I can bounce a few more off and see if you approve.

From what I heard last time, Bacchus didn't want us to roll in front of them.
WTF makes Bacchus so special? Sometimes people have to sacrifice.
That being said, Bacchus is a fairly decent opening act.

Thoth is as big as Endymion, member-wise, or it's VERY close.
Actually, Endymion is about 3100 and Thoth is about 1700.

Really it was only in 2006, after Katrina, when NOPD and the rest of the city were at a personnel lowpoint. You still had tons of people in "recovery" rebuilding homes, and all the resultant debris and trash lingering all over the city for months on end. Sanitation services weren't totally up and running, either.
It happened four times. The first time was 2004 because the streetcar tracks were being laid on Canal St. The second and third of course was 2006 and 2007 - besides Mid City being a mess it was also easier from a logistical standpoint since the Extravaganza was in the Convention Center and then 2011 was the Sunday roll.

It was great seeing all the people who came to the parade with signs that said "Thank you for parading." Hundreds of them

I ride in Endymion. Just got an email from my float lt. saying they are having a krewe meeting tomorrow at 6:30. He said he'd bank on them rolling Saturday unless it's incredibly bad.

To be fair, that meeting happens every Tuesday week of the parade. Is in no way due to current weather. It will be discussed, but they have same meeting every year.
