Nostalgic Things You Miss From The Past?

I'm sure there's a cornucopia of things I could list here, but I'll just name a few. I think we all can agree that we miss certain things from our hay days. I still remember the the days of Blockbuster and going to rent movies. Or the days of going with your friends to go handout at the mall(which you can still do, but it was more fun back then). I remember when going to a movie was actually fun and lol it didn't cost an arm and a leg. So folks, what's something nostalgic that you wish you could relive?

I remember when the bars in the French quarter didn’t card in the late 1990s and I could buy an alcoholic beverage while I was underage

Baseball in the backyard. We played with rubber balls and wood bats. Hard to hit but when you did you crushed it.

A neighborhood of kids hitting the roads on bikes at morning and not coming home until dark.
Rock concerts under $20 with no phones blocking the view of the stage.

Walking behind a nice arse and admiring it and then not finding out it’s a dude in fishnets.

I loved to ride my motorcycle atop the levee and could access it just past the Domino's Sugar Refinery by the Chalmette Slips and ride the top of the levee as far as I wanted.
Now, every big business, oil refinery, shipping company, etc. have closed access to the levee with fences down to the river's edge and the law has made it illegal to ride atop the levee with motor vehicles.

When your dad gave you his shoe box of Marlboro points and the new catalog.
I still have a bunch of stuff from that. Marlboro didn’t joke around with the quality of gear you could order.

When I was in high school in the mid seventies everyone got along. There was no racism like today. We hung out and partied with everyone unless you were an a-hole

Knocking doors to get enough people to play a baseball game in the neighborhood.
I started early.

The lack of constant contact.
No cell phones/smartphones.
No email
No social media
If you wanted to get in contact with someone you had to CALL them.
Coordinating a meet up with your friends at the mall.

One of my favorite hobbies is watching 70's & 80's exploitation movies. I miss rogue filmakers outside of Hollywood who just made the film they wanted & didn't give a shite who was offended.
