Perfectly valid reasons to enjoy living somewhere. But I have to admit I laughed at "trees."
I’m a big fan of where I live because of the clouds. Solid clouds here.

Lived in the BR area my entire life and have seen most of the state minus the north. Is it worth checking out?
I love traveling to new places so to me everywhere is worth checking out. Check out the calendar of events and come up here when they have something that interests you is going on. They do concerts at Landry’s Vineyard where you can see some local bands and drink wine at a pretty cool outdoor venue. Then go have dinner at Cotton or Fat Pelican or even venture to the south side and there’s some great places like Big Mammas. The Riverwalk is cool on Saturday mornings. Maybe check out a play at the Strauss or ULM or Tech have things going on. And then Enochs is definitely great to have a few pints of Guinness or maybe a carbomb while watching some great live music.
Not going to lie, Monroe is what you make of it. It doesn’t have an Aquarium or much in the way of touristy stuff but the people that say there’s nothing going on here just aren’t creative enough.
Funroe can definitely be fun.

I was raised in North Louisiana but have lived in South Louisiana for over twenty years. If you sent one these Salt Life Heybo Swamp Assassin Baws up to NELA you'd have to tie some Coal oil rags around their ankles to keep the ants from crawling up their legs and eating their candy arses.

I’ve been waiting for someone to post about the situation with the Union Parish Sheriff throwing a girl across a parking lot during an altercation Fri night. You can prob guess the ethnicity of each party. OT slackin

Why do they have so many churches in that area?
Posted on 5/12/19 at 4:12 pm to OweO
Because a lot of people around here are religious

My mom and my wife are both from out of state. Both ended up in Monroe due to a job transfer (my mom's dad in her case). Both ended by being transferred from Monroe to BR after a few years.
My mom went to Neville until her senior year when her dad was transferred. That had to suck arse to get moved the summer before your SR year.

Born & raised & went to college in North Louisiana. Moved to New Orleans after college & lived there for almost a decade.
I found out really quick that most people in South Louisiana don't consider North Louisiana part of Louisiana. I mean blatantly. They could care less about it & only want to use it for LSU football recruits. North Louisiana has some of the best & most genuine people on the face of this earth.
That being said, when I move back to Louisiana, I will be moving back to New Orleans.
