North Face Founder's Widow to Donate....(NSFW?)

The widow of North Face co-founder Douglas Tompkins apparently dresses for comfort and speed. The male Tompkins had bought huge amounts of Patagonian real estate (ironic) after cashing out and his widow is seeing to his final wishes that the land be donated to the state of Chile as a nature preserve.
The widow is the ex-CEO of Patagonia, a rival of North Face.
I must admit that out of the two women pictured, I'd rather see Tompkins at the RaisinFest than Bachelet.
Kristine McDivitt Tompkins (pictured right with her high beams on) discussed the donation with Chile's President Michelle Bachelet.
Por Owlie:
Durante la cita, Kristine McDivitt oficializó la donación de más de 400 mil hectáreas al Estado chileno para la construcción de parques nacionales.
tl/dr: It would appear to be chilly in Chile.

400 million hectares is about 161,000 sq miles. That's about the size of the state of California.

"Gross" means literally "great" or connotatively "fat" in German.
Possibly you mean disgusting or IWNHI, which I understand but probably would disagree with you on.
tl/dr: IWHI, she's a very rich and smart widder lady

And as the gift was 400,000 hectares, the donation is 1/100th the size of California-- and about 1.25 Rhode Islands.

Watch 180 (degrees) South. It's on Netflix. It touches on Douglas and Yvon Chouinard (founder of the Patagonia company, they were good friends), and his project in Chile. Other really cool stuff in the documentary as well.

180 Degrees South: Conquerors of the Useless, or simply 180° South, is a 2010 documentary directed by Chris Malloy that covers the journey of Jeff Johnson as he travels from Ventura, California to Patagonia, Chile retracing the 1968 trip that Yvon Chouinard and Doug Tompkins took in their Ford E-Series Econoline Van.[1] After finding footage of the 1968 expedition, Johnson decided to make climbing the Corcovado Volcano in Patagonia as his life goal and, after speaking to Chouinard and Tompkins, planned his own journey.

Definitely watch that movie. And I am pretty sure this was their plan from the beginning.

Gotta take that meeting. Especially when your wife has 3rd degree sunburns in the hotel room

Along with Royal Robbins, who also started a line of clothing inspired by climbing. And Tom Frost who with Chouinard started Black Diamond Equipment. They all capitalized on it.
