I am not sure how to fix it.... there are places people just don't want to venture. It's dangerous in a lot of areas....

Man they shoot guns all night in the hood while we practice. What is fear? A lack of faith. We went and handed out toys on these same streets.

A buddy of mine is from Scotlandville.

I asked him a few years back after a shooting at the BK, as we were driving near Southern, "How do you just fix this shite, it just hurts my heart that kids are raised in this shite."

His answer stuck with me.

"It isn't a race that is broken, that's where people get twisted. Plenty of black people do just fine in life. What is broken there is a culture. How do you fix a culture? What's more, how do you fix a culture when it is politically and socially reprehensible to point out that the culture is broken."

Only black people are allowed to offer answers. White folks are only to offer money, excuses, and apologies.

Change in the community is happening already through the churches. Swb will speed that process up IMO.

Can you elaborate on this?
When Holden made a push to encourage businesses to open up in NBR, there was a blacklash against possible gentrification.

As I understand it, there are strict rules against demolishing and rebuilding. . .and drastically renovating properties.

I talked to a few guys in Delmont Village, and they confirmed it. Said they were willing to renovate the whole shopping center. They were told they could not.

Black churches are probably the biggest scams on earth.

Why do we have to fix it? We didn't break it. I'd rather just wall it off

Fun fact. The segment of the black community that lives in the ghetto/projects, as a whole, doesn't want to better themselves.

In all honesty, I dont really believe that. There are alot of people in these areas that would love to get out and live elsewhere but dont have the means to do so. I talk with business owners and their employees on a regular basis when I service them and can tell you that black working adults cant stand all these young thugs. While I am white, Im able to ease into the conversation about these situations since I mention that I grew up in a certain subdivision in NBR that is now probably 90% black. I really enjoy talking to older people about the crime and jow much things have changed bc they just tell it like it is and dont hold back.

1. I am not a slum lord I actually put money in my properties. I sold out to a slum lord because the restless natives destroyed the neighborhood. It is hard to attract good tenants in a war zone.

2. Sharon Weston Broome been in politics for how long representing the NBR area and is it any better.

3. If Wal-mart is building smaller neighborhood markers in a lot of areas except yours Something must be wrong.

4. Please give us more young future inmates who jump on top of duplexes after their mama was evicted for not paying rent butt naked swinging their you know what.

Then you wonder why people who can get out want to get out of NBR!

So you want someone else to do the fixing for you. Looks like you have a lot more in common with "them" than you thought.

Because I value my life and well being MUCH more over some animals who don't have shite to lose.

How do you fix it? Wall it off, drop napalm. Come back in a week, clear the ashes and start over. It is a giant cesspool that deserves to be destroyed. Not a single beacon of light to be found in the war zone of North baton rouge.

Oh i wish we could. But at the end of the day, I don't give a flying frick about north baton rouge. It's a shite hole and always will be. I'll just continue to sit back, laugh, judge, and love my white privileged life.

I'd rather live in Damascus than the shite hole that is north baton rouge.
