Terrible. Just another senseless killing by an animal with no regard for human life whatsoever.

any hope at revival?

No. City should have gone with the plan to basically scrap the area and let it return to marshland after Katrina.

seems like a lost cause

It is. There's really no reason for it to exist as a habitable place. In fact, it really isn't at this point.

It's sad how used to this behavior the residents of the area are.

It won't be broadcasted because they don't like stories like this.

These are the deadbeat pieces of shite that Mitch sucks off each and every day. New Orleans is only going to fall harder into this blackhole with the new mayor, because you all know damn well nobody who isn't 110% BLM is going to win.

I'm sure that's a given. Have they released the full list of all his arrest/convictions yet?

from the Advocate tweet/link I posted with the old mug shot...
quote:

Bridges is described as a "career criminal" in court records.

His history includes more than a dozen arrests and at least three guilty pleas. Most recently in Orleans Parish criminal district court, Bridges pleaded guilty in 2012 to attempted possession of a firearm by a felon and was sentenced to serve 6 1/2 years in term.

Bridges' arrest history in Orleans Parish dates back to 2004, according to online court records.

According to the state Department of Corrections, Bridges received a year of probation from a 2007 marijuana arrest, then in 2010 he was handed a 5-year suspended sentence on a second-degree battery count.

Police arrested him again on Aug. 10, 2011 on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

His probation on the battery conviction was revoked, and Bridges was sent to prison in 2012 on that violation as well as the 6 1/2-year sentence he received in March 2012 on an amended count of attempted possession of a firearm by a felon.

Bridges left prison in May 2015 on "good-time" release, according to the state agency. He returned to parole supervision in June 2016 following his arrest two months earlier on the allegation that he grabbed a female victim by the throat and choked her during an argument.

Bridges, who also allegedly ran from police after a traffic stop in October 2011, remains on parole.

He received six months of probation, but the case has remained open since he missed a status hearing to address.

I'm sure someone will, it's over three dozen arrests.

Expect other big news to drop soon on him as well.

I bet the New Orleans Saints will be too busy kneeling for their own self worth over paying respect to this officer who was killed in the line of duty.

Don't forget from nola.com

quote:

Online court records show he was back before an Orleans Parish judge in March of last year, after being arrested on one count of domestic abuse battery involving strangulation. The arrest landed Bridges back on parole supervision on June 1, 2016, state corrections officials said.

ETA: NM didn't see that your link already mentioned it. Either way how the hell does he only get supervised parole for that with his criminal history?

My boss taught the officer that was killed. He was a ST. Augustine HS alumnus. Two young kids.
