As bad as the east is and that neighborhood where this occurred off Lake Forest.... the real war zone is over there in Pines Village between Dowman and I10.... holy shite not long ago I brought a coworker home at night and dropped him off two blocks across the steeet from Vison's in that neighborhood and I swear every little turn they had hood rats blocking the streets looking like they were waiting for me to stop to rob me. It's the most Wild West I think I've ever encountered in America.

i live directly on the other side of the canal in Pontchartrain Park so I take downman>morrison>I-10 if i ever go to the northshore and it truly is terrifying in that area.

how could I forget about this...

while I was working at my family's hardware store 1 day... right around noon... there was a murder in the neighborhood right behind the store

the warehouse worker immediately shut the back storm door... and a few hours later there were police in the store looking at the security camera footage hoping to get a shot of someone fleeing the scene

Human garbage killing police/military to temporarily escape facing consequences has been going on for centuries. Nothing new here, unfortunately.

I read he graduated from Dillard in accounting and traded in a bank job for a job as an NOPD.

I just wanted to chime in that I used to work with Officer Marcus when he worked for a local bank. He was one of the nicest guys I ever had the pleasure of working with. I just scrolled through the contacts on my phone and it saddened me deeply that he is no longer here to talk to. He only left the bank to take a job that paid more so he could support his new family.

I hope anyone on this board that is any way connected to folks that would commit violence against police will take this tragedy as an opportunity to possibly prevent further violence.
