Superintendent Shaun Ferguson chastised journalists Tuesday (July 26) for reporting on the New Orleans Police Department’s worsening manpower problems instead of more “positive” news.

Gee Shaun, what’s positive in regards to NOPD or NOLA? Chastised them? The journalists should be going in dry, like the hammer of Thor on this a-hole (pun intended). Don’t like negative press? Try doing something to generate some positive press. What a (typical) embarrassment of a public official.

I’ll need to find a writer, because I’m terrible. I’m sure someone on tOT will gladly do it.

He was only with NOPD for three years, so I doubt he vested.

For a city with an estimated population of around 377,000, Fanning saw less than three dozen patrol officers on the streets last Friday night.

No

I believe their is similar to ours. 12 years is vested, 100% at 30 years.

3 years, he may walk away with a couple dollars of what he put in, after penalties

Not to mention, the majority of them wish they could do the same, but have a family to support. At 23, he can probably go work at Costco and make almost what he did at NOPD. He may get shot at more though.

Only reason I’m still working for that city. I’m too far into my pension

My coworker's sister just retired from the NOPD this summer. She was texting her since back in early March, 90 days left, 83 days left, 76 days..... for 3 months.

Having a worthless DA drop charges against violent felons is also a problem.

Today it seems that most people are more caring for the rights of the criminal and not the cop...

Even your own NFL team doesn't support the cops. or that is the message that they are sending. Pitifull.

If that were my son, I'd do everything possible to help him get on his feet in a safer industry/city. Smart guy made a smart move. And then to clarify things via the media was brilliant as well. The city's leadership looks like a third rate circus. And the sad/funny thing is they think he looks like the a-hole.

That’s how they do it where I work. I know the day and how many days from now.
It’s one of the biggest days of your life. You put in hard work, work that tears you down, physically and mentally, for so many years, you can’t wait to leave and collect.
The problem is so many people on my service don’t live much longer. They get 10 good years of retirement and die. It’s sad.
Some guys work 40-45 years because they still love it. But they are basically paying to go to work.
I have a plan to get out earlier, and save my mind and body. Fortunate to have made good investments and have another retirement from my second job.

Congrats to your co-workers sister for sticking it out and putting in that many years.

Don’t worry, fed gov will soon step in and take over. Which means they will also guard the local voting precincts and control the mail in ballot numbers. Yay America

Nola tPOS gunned down a HANO Officer sitting in his car several years ago. Nola tPOS don’t care what LE agency you’re with.

Ferguson is untouchable as he's banging Latoya

I kid you not, I just showed a buddy the headline of this thread and the first thing he mentioned was that Latoya was having an affair with possibly Ferguson.
