Not sure if it's only because the case is so high profile, but it's always good to see a bad cop removed from his/her position. A win for the good guys.

A New Orleans police officer was arrested and placed on emergency suspension after authorities said he deliberately attempted to leave behind evidence while investigating an aggravated assault case involving the suspect in Officer Daryle Holloway's death.

He was covering his arse for the shitty job he did on the prior case that contributed to Holloway's death.

No, he just did shitty police work during the original arrest.

Or worse. Who's to say the cop wasn't friends with the tPOS and he knew he was packing heat?

a long shot yes....but he threw casings out his cop window. That's potentially deeper than just shitty police work.

It's clear he was covering something up. At the very least he was trying to get the guy off easier.

So I wonder if the officer that died ever had a chance or reason to frisk Boys, and this other cop basically got him killed.

I guarantee he didn't do a body search of the dude. How do you NOT find a gun on someone? Did he have it in his arse?

Yeah if he deliberately left the spent casing at the crime scene AND deliberately kept the box of bullets in his car, then we're not talking about sloppy police work.

It's speculation at this point but it's not outrageous to make the jump that he purposely allowed Boys to have a firearm on his person during and after his arrest.

If you are transporting a suspect you should ALWAYS frisk the person you are transporting. It doesn't matter if he had already been checked by other officers I always checked any prisoner, suspect, etc who I transported.

it sounds like he might even qualify as lucky he didnt get shot, honestly. boys got his hands to the front when originally transported (and shouldve had his cuffs changed then, in addition to the list of other issues).

it doesnt sound like he was trying to set holloway up, as much as just lazy and trying to coast out of the office as quickly and painlessly as possible that night. but we will see as more comes out.

I hope this is the case. The last thing we need is to see every case reopened that this officer was involved in for some dumbass reason.
