What’s this?
Southern vs Grambling football game in the SuperDome every year. A lot of businesses took flack because they would close during the Bayou Classic weekend because customers not paying, not tipping, rudeness, drama, violence etc.....hate to say stereotyped but hey if the bullet fits..

Atlanta had something worse called Freaknik. It was closed down a while back but brought back this year.

there is a huge problem with folks jamming a dozen people in a room and leaving lots of damage.

This happens for a lot of big events throughout the country. Outside of the wristband policy some hotels use for mardi gras, its hard to stop this.

quote:

And the staff at these hotels all do not want to work on these weekends because it is one long complaint by the guests and they will claim racism over any perceived slight.

Simply not true. I enjoyed working the big events when I worked at a few hotels during college. Just have to know how to talk to people. I did valet/bell work. Greeted the people when pulled up, helped with luggage, explained to them the parking situation. 45 dollars a night, so yes they complained. Gave them tips on self parking options, street parking whatever. Spoke to them when they came back down whenever they needed something they would come down and ask me a lot of times and I would get it done for them.

quote:

The hotels charge less than other events like the Superbowl and Mardi Gras but still get accused of racism for having higher than normal rates.

Its an event centered around 2 black colleges, of course the rates will be lower. People arent calling around to these hotels and claiming racism over the rates. Has some hack ever done this before? Wouldnt shock me one bit with how things are these days, but this usnt some normal occurence.

Remember when Walk Ons had a sewer line bust and the floors had to be pulled up because of the raw sewage? So they closed the restaurant and it happened to be over Bayou Classic weekend? Remember how everyone immediately screamed racism and Walk Ons had to post photos of the under way repairs to calm the racist hacks? I member.

Saw poeple talking about this just yesterday in facebook. People were saying the only reason they are open this year was because of the bad press they received from their Covington store. Not sure what was the point of your post, but yes I remember the story.

Miami ain't exactly Mayberry. Don't harbor negative feelings toward the whole state of Louisiana just because LSU broke the Miami Hurricane program with that 40-3 Peach Bowl game years ago. Have a nice day.

Why on earth would you bring a football game into a discussion about two states? Are we measuring everything off of football programs and games nowadays?

It is a fact that low IQ is directly proportional to low impulse control. With low impulse control an individual does not weigh future consequences before acting.

This is at the bottom of CNN’s front page yet if a white guy opened fire and hit 3 people it would be headline news.

Third straight 10 win season. No need for the ad hominem attack. It’s not relevant to the conversation. Let’s stick to the topic at hand.
