Wonder if there will be any stories of grilling in the hotel room where 12 people are staying? Or is that just an urban legend?

I’ve seen it firsthand in Houston too. Only they were frying fish in the room.

It’s so infuriating all the gun violence, particularly around this weekend every single year. Are these people so chicken shite and idiotic that they cannot solve these disagreements with fists like people used to? Of course not, because they don’t care about innocent lives around them. If people should be offended about anything and raise protests over, it’s needless shite like this.

Absolutely pathetic excuse of humanity.

I have worked in hotels as well and i can assure that our aa employees dreaded these events. Our crew of workers was a vast array of white, black, muslim, foreign born, etc. Many different people of all kinds of backgrounds and ethnicity.

One thing they all agreed on? That bayou classic, essense fest, etc were the worst.

Mandatory gratuities had to be implemented as well as bump is pay " combat pay" during such events.

Luckily the head of the crew was aa. She was the one to implement these policies and the one who employees were directed to send complaining guests to. She would politely tell them where they could shove their ridiculous complaints.

No, not all of those guests were horrible. Many were sweet and nice but the ones that were bad really made the whole ordeal a misery.

Remember when Walk Ons had a sewer line bust and the floors had to be pulled up because of the raw sewage? So they closed the restaurant and it happened to be over Bayou Classic weekend? Remember how everyone immediately screamed racism and Walk Ons had to post photos of the under way repairs to calm the racist hacks? I member.
that doesn’t mean they didn’t intentionally bust it to create the need for that closure

That reminds me that our guests one year were angry the pool was closed due to a " code brown". They felt it was purely a racist move. Code brown must be some whitey term for closing the pool so black folks cant get in it, right?

Naw, in fact it was due to one of them shitting in the pool that caused the code brown.

Intentionally bust a sewer pipe in a restaurant to force a closure? Do you hear yourself?

There was a time when NOPD simply didn't tolerate this type of nonsense anywhere on Canal but especially around Bourbon and Royal, either day or night.

Times have changed.

So 1 black person shitted in the pool so the entire group caused it? Do you hear how stupid this sounds? Sounds like you and your crew were bad at your jobs.

Of course guests are going to complain if they paid for certain amentities and they arent able to use them.

No he’s saying someone shat in the pool and forced it to be closed for decontamination. They guest assumed it was a racist tactic to deny them access to the pool.

Jesus Christ your reading comprehension skills are nothing to brag about

I clearly said ONE of them shite in the pool. Sorry about your lack of reading comprehension.

We were "bad at our jobs" because someone shite in the pool? Lol!! Our job did NOT involve potty training guests.

The pool was closed for a brief time because of contamination and the time it takes to decontaminate the pool, not as a retaliatory strike against the guests.

I apologize for assuming you were an intelligent person who could comprehend simple facts. I wont make that mistake again.

Yall really are morons. It was clear that one person shitted in the pool. You followed that with this comment.

Naw, in fact it was due to one of them shitting in the pool that caused the code brown.

You are grouping the actions of 1 individual to an entire race of people.

No you are bad at your job because you have to use other methods to receive tips. I made plenty of money during bayou classic.

Thus is obvious dude, do better at explaing it to guests and not make statements like

quote:

Naw, in fact it was due to one of them shitting in the pool that caused the code brown.

quote:

My comprehension is just fine, youre just upset I called you out on your bullshite.

It does NOT generate money for the city.

This link (nola.com) seems to indicate otherwise: LINK citing revenue of over $50m attributed to the event.

Granted it is hard to separate revenue of Thanksgiving visitors to New Orleans and those attending the Bayou Classic, but I’d have to think most people deciding on a whim to go vacation in New Orleans and noticing there was a large football gathering between two HBC’s would decide to go elsewhere.
