New Orleans police are investigating a shooting on Canal Street Sunday morning involving multiple victims. The shooting happened about 3:30 a.m. in the 700 block of Canal, between Bourbon and Chartres Streets, as crowds packed the French Quarter and Canal Street for the Bayou Classic and Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Police said a suspect has been apprehended near the scene. No details were given on how many victims or their extent of their injuries, although initial reports said several were taken to University Medical Center for treatment.

The bayou classic continues to be such a wonderful event for our city. There’s no chance it brings in enough money to justify the negative publicity it brings.
