I'm sure Mitch is handling it, right?

Better.
Looks like the "crime doesn't pay" campaign is finally making inroads.

To be fair, nothing good usually happens after 1 A.M. if you are still out and about in a major city.
I'm not blaming the victims, but let's not act like this shite is happening at the Seventh Street Baptist Church at 9:30 in the morning on a Sunday.

You should be able to be out anytime you want with reasonable expectation that law enforcement would do their job. It just so happens that law enforcement in New Orleans is being run by the dumbest and most corrupt motherfrickers in the world.

So if you're out after 1 am expect to get robbed and only blame yourself when you do?

No, and I explicitly said I was not blaming the victims or implying that it was their fault.
However, this sort of circumstance seems applicable to the OT's tendency to attack females who are sexually assaulted because they allowed themselves to be put in compromising or dangerous situations.
It is important for everyone to use common sense and awareness. The world can be a fricked up and dangerous place, and you should always be on the lookout for your safety and well-being.
A number of these robberies took place around the Quarter. You don't have to be a brain surgeon to realize that the area can become very dangerous at certain times of the day.

There are a number of things that citizens "should" and would like to be able to do, but the fact is that we don't know what sort of criminals are out there waiting to do something sinister to an unsuspecting bystander.
I will grant you that NOPD is terrible at their job, but people should never rely solely on a government agency or local law enforcement to look entirely after their safety. Yes, that is the purpose of such a department, but we are all obligated to avoid putting ourselves in dangerous or threatening situations.
This isn't similar to the series of armed robberies which took place on Magazine St. at fine dining establishments or during broad daylight in the past year. At least that's a relatively affluent part of the city and one you wouldn't suspect such a incident to occur in. However, the Quarter's dangers are already well-documented and widely known.

Ever since the city was empty post Katrina, New Orleans has turned into a turf war of rival gangs and its only gonna get worse... I will NEVER go to New Orleans again... To unsafe... Plus If I did I would take my gun and kill a bunch of gang members cause they think they OWN the city......................
